Warning for Duplicated Invoice Number
Hi MYOB, The online version does not warn you when a duplicated invoice number is entered like it does with the desk top version. This is a valuable tool when doing multiple supplier invoices and when clients regulary upload the same invoice. An update to the online version to introduce this feature will be an extremely valuable addition.MYOB Small business accounting has gone backwards
MYOB Small business accounting has gone backwards - 1. Bring back keyboard shortcuts 2. How many times do you need to save a bill and then confirm save and then save and create and if you then revisit the transaction and record/save again. So time consuiming 3. Reports are non functional for gl transactions if you wish to particularly see one account only. 4. Find Transactions should have wider column for being able to see debits and credits in one screen for ease of auditing what has been processed, the ability to see debits and credits in one screen once again time consuming. 5. The ability to be able to see customer card and supplier card transactions this tool is vital to see history when finding accounting errors 5. The list of flaws in neverending, Myob used to be a wonderful basic account system, instead you have to pay more to for these features in Account Right
Merge/combined duplicated contacts in MYOB online version/Essential
Dear MYOB technicians, The needs are arising for being able to merge/combine the duplicate contacts in MYOB online version. The Essential has be developed for years but this funtion still unavailable. I am not sue if this is never achievable for online version ( if yes, this could be one of the disadvantage of online version) or MYOB needs hearing more voices to raise this request ( if yes, please have more users to submit the request here). Myob Intray Autoprocessing
To apply in both AR Desktop and Browser Intray need the ability for the Intray to automatically process accounts payable bills. Utilising the default expense account attached at the supplier level Would request that a "Rules" based system be setup that enables bills from certain suppliers be automatically processed from the Intray, directly to the Bills/Accounts payable section.
Leave Balance Report for NZ please
In the upgrade of MYOB Payroll Essential for NZ, there is no Leave Balance (or other leave type) report. The Leave Transaction Report is not the same. I have attached redacted examples of the old Leave Balances report (Detailed and Summary), which could be run for all types of leave. Can you confirm that aLeave Balance report WILL be made available in the future (soon please!), as currently no such reports exists and I can't customise anything to suit. I realise Essentials is a pared down programme but this is a feature that it used to have and has only recently been lost with the upgrade. Please reinstate it :-)
Spend money &n return to spend money page
I have over 100 spend money transactions to input - so that I can put the invoice number on the transaction. Could I please - for the love of God, return to spend money page after I've saved a spend money transaction? It keeps going to the find transaction page instead - forcing me to go to banking, press spend money, then start again having to choose the account number. So Please - we used to be able to do this - could we please just have the option to do another spend money transaction. If not this could we please have the option to put the invoice/reference number on the match/allocate transaction in banking please?
New MYOB setup is challenging, the old version was way better!
The following are key issues with the new system that the old one never had... With bank transactions: - Uploading receipts to tray used to always regester, now half of them can't be read and remain under processing. - When trying to add a receipt to a bank transaction, you used to be able to just drop an attachment in, now you can only browse through your files for one or get one out of your tray. - When trying to retrieve a receipt from tray it used to display them with receipts that match the same figure first, then the remaining following. Now it doesn't display matching first, and displays in date order, so you have to search down through all your receipts to find the one that matches the figure. - Previously when inputing an account for a transaction, you would start typing one - like "vehicle" and all of your vehicle listings would show up in the drop down box to quickly ckick on the one you want, or you could just type in "expense" and scroll through about 8 different options at a time. Now the drop down box only displays one option for selection, so unless you type the full description in correctly it won't pop it up, and to search for it you struggle scrolling through with only one displayed option at a time. For invoicing: - The description box is way too narrow for typing in (with large font), with unnecessarily wide account and amount boxes. So when describing services undertaken it is hard to type in and list items, with only 6 words or so displaying per line. - When emailing invoices the system is extremely slow, and takes ages to send the emails and even longer to regester and show that an invoice was actually sent. Where as previously it was done and displayed instantly. - The old system used to pull off all my contacts 'first names' accurately for inputting into an automated invoice email. But when all my contacts transferred to the new system it didn't register names properly, and now each invoice email is most often selecting no first name for sending, or is picking up their entire name, or a random other selection. Where as the old system would always automatically insert the clients first name into the email with no problem. Overall, the system is much slower and has lots of added unnecessary boxes and selections that aren't needed and never used. Where as the essentially ones needing to be used are hidden small among lots of other junk. The system needs to run faster, with primary input boxes taking up primary space, and non essential additions to the side or in drop boxes. And needs way better user friendliness like the old hadQuantities - report please
Old 38 plus year old Banklink still superior to MYOB (Connected ledger) in many ways. The (then) CEO of MYOB said some many years ago that he was going to try to model MYOB on Banklink. If that is happening it is happening very slowly. The bank transactions screen has a field for "Quantity". What is the use of it? You cannot print a report which includes any number you type in that box as far as I can see. Certainly not in the general ledger. Farmers, but others also, need to keep a record of the litres for fuel purchases for the fuel rebate for their BAS return. Banklink allowed you to enter quantities and those quantity numbers printed (and added up) on the subsequent general ledger report. Please allow us to edit the Payslip template in MYOB Essentials. I have employees who are on hourly and some on salary. The hourly rate showing on the salary payslip and the annual salary showing on the casual hourly rate payslip is misleading and looks very unprofessional. The layout of the Payslip is also not well thought out. Very sad indeed. "Payslips"
TURN OFF BPAY
I wonder if the “Development Team” know this kind of inaction is exactly why MYOB lost the race to ZERO. This has been ask over and over again, and what have they done about it? Other than some bloke called earl, responding with the same cut and past response, Absolutely nothing. At least have the minerals to tell us the real reason you won’t allow us to turn off BPAY specifically is because you are getting some sort of kickback from BPay, I would respect an honest answer like this. MYOB Could we please get payroll fixed so that when you edit the employee's card and change their pay rate, you are asked if you want their Standard pay updated BEFORE it makes any changes? For example, when you have casual employees that do not have a Standard Pay you have to remember to reduce their standard pay back to $0 every time you update their record. I just had this happen again yesterday for a client who nearly paid the wrong amount to a number of casual employees who had received a pay rate review. Or, maybe allow the employee to have a weekly pay period of 0 hours! Thanks.Fix the messages that are useless
Dear MYOB, In the attached screen shot, you will notice the warning message at the top of the screen indicating that the current financial year for my ledger is 2023. Even if I dismiss the message to free up some screen real estate, it keeps coming back every time I refresh the report. I am currently finalising the accounts for their 2023 tax return and to be still working on 2023 accounts this long after the end of the financial year not very unusual. If a non-accounting user was to see this, think it is an error and roll over the file it could be a pain for other users. Can we please have this message removed when it has been dismissed? At least for your current session? This seems to me to be another example of the lack of understanding by the designers about what we are trying to use the software for and what the impact these popup messages on the top of the screen have on our work flow. Hi there, Not sure where to post this but I would like to post some client feedback IR345 - the old PDF printout on a monthly basis was invaluable for clients. I have had several clients ask me where to find this and I have to direct them to the employer deductions report. This needs to be made clearer so clients can access it Payslips - I have some clients who like to printout or save all the payslips as a PDF. Now they have to download them individually. It would be great to reinstate the bulk download please Payslips - one client noted the payslip download file now just says payslip, it does not state the date of the payrun anymore which was a timesaver when saving the file Leave Report - it would be great to have the option to include accumulated leave in the leave report in an additional column, and perhaps their usual weekly hours to understand the impact of the weeks Payrun - it would be great if the option was reinstated to email the payroll email address a copy of the payslips for filing, as well as the employees when doing a payrun Thank you Robert
MYOB Business Payroll - ability to allocate to jobs
MYOB Business Pro has a Payroll function but there is currently no ability to allocate the earnings to a job which is something that is a common requirements from businesses and organisations. Please consider adding this capability just as you already have for any other transactions entered, such as spending money, purchases etc.Annual leave balance report in NZ

When coding bank transactions the drop-down list for accounts is ridiculously small. At best only three accounts are visible. That is not very helpful when trying to scroll around to find the account you need. A drop-down list showing 10-12 accounts would be much better. For comparison, Xero shows six accounts in its drop-down list.Supplier Payment Terms in Contact Card
Can we please be able to set individual supplier payment terms in the Contact Card (like you can in AccountRight under Buying Details tab) as some suppliers are due in 7 days (No. of given days) and some are 30 days net and some are number of days after EOM. Thank you.
QUOTES - View quotes online and have Accept and Decline buttons for invoicing
I am reposting this idea from 2017 which has not been implemented, (Link below). Idea: Need to be able to view quotes online as you can with invoices. Must have an Accept or Decline button at the top of the quote. On Accept of the quote, it must auto-create an invoice. Workflow for an Accepted quote: Customer views quote online just like invoicing > customer accepts the quote online > business gets an email notification of the accepted quote with a link to the original in MYOB > quote automatically turns into an invoice in MYOB under the customer's details > customer automatically gets an email notification of the new invoice > customer pays the new invoice. Without this feature, you MUST: Get in touch with the customer or they get in touch with you, to discuss accepting the quote. Go into their quote. Then manually change the status to Accepted. Then click the Convert to Invoice button. Then you must click the accept button on the pop-up. Then you must click email invoice. Then you must click send invoice from the email invoice pop-up. OMG! Why has this not been implemented? For businesses that send lots of quotes, this would be a huge time saver. Time is money and automation is king! I was recently upgraded to the new MYOB and it should have had more testing before being rolled out to everyone. 1. When creating a quote it uses the next invoice number. 2. When the quote has been created invoices are no longer in order as you don't win all quotes. The old system had numbers starting with Q for quote and then when the button was pressed to create invoice from quote it would get the next available invoice number. 3. When you hit the button create invoice from quote it doesn't update the date to the current day and if you send it the invoice is overdue straight away. 4. To many unused coloums. 5. Coloum width too narrow and a lot of wasted space. 6. Support difficult to reach on the phone 7. Phone app doesnt always save quotes. 8. Computer have to have items from inventory. cant have random text like before. 9. Can't change the order of the line items in the quote if you want to rearrange some items. To be honest I am pretty dissapointed in the new product. I want to go back to the old one.
Superannuation payable on Dashboard is not what is says
On the MYOB Business dashboard, the amount shown under Superannuation Payable is in fact the sum of Superannuation Payable plusPAYG Withholding Payable.I have confirmed this by checking against ledger reports. To correct this, the heading should be changed from "Superannuation Payable" to "Superannuation and PAYG Withholding Payable", OR even better display Superannuation and PAYG Withholding as separate items. Hi Team, The ability to attach supporting documents to a General Journal or Receive money transaction is long overdue. I have the situation where I like to attach the payment slip for our BAS to the payment that we make each time we lodge a BAS however this quarter the BAS results in a refund. I cannot enter this transaction as a minus payment and when I create a Spend money transaction, I cannot attach a copy of the BAS for later reference. As I am unable to attach a document to a General Journal entry either, the system has once again failed to be an efficient product to use. Regards, AlanTSales template edit
Having migrated to BusinessLite from AccountRight, we are now unable to use our previous sales invoice template or properly edit the BusinessLite sales invoice template to fit with our letterhead and company details. To be honest, it looks pretty bad. We’d prefer to revert to a scenario where we can edit out (where necessary) and re size boxes to suit our needs. This is a pretty fundamental need if MYOB is interested in providing a relatively simple/orderly transition to BusinessLite. Can you please change the background setting to show the supplier invoice # in bank feeds when matching supplier payment not MYOB auto generated bill #. The bill number means nothing to us when the client reference the supplier invoice number when paying supplier invoices. There is so much extra time required to locate what bill # matches the invoice #.Invoice Template Footer Customisation
We have limited abilities to customise the invoice template. What we require is for the footer section to be editable. The only options we have are customising the Header Style and Header Information. ~ A screenshot mockup is attached for reference. Options we require in the footer are: Have the footer editable to add/remove widgets or boxes. Have these editable in the master template. Have the option to edit individual invoices for deeper customisation. (For some clients we do not want to give bank details and only give them card options). The screenshot attached - sections numbered I have added a mockup design for a Footer section dropdown. Named each box in the footer as Widgets 1, 2, and 3 for reference purposes. Widgets 1,2,3 are set to Add as default. (Because MYOB already has them there). However, when you select No it will remove the widget. Eg: Select No on BPAY and it will remove the BYAY box widget. Set to No as default, but have the option to add an additional comment box by selecting Yes. The notes section is good, but as web developers, we have additional final invoice terms on our invoices. Placing this information in the Notes section will make the invoice look cluttered, so if we had an option to place text at the footer > full width in a smaller font (say 10px), would be handy. Only visible once the Comment box Yes is selected. It conditionally opens up the Comment box placement option. We feel that deeper template customisation is required as all our clients have different needs. Once these modifications are completed, we can then create multiple templates for the different services we offer.Profit & Loss Reports to have Report Option to Exclude InActive Accounts
Currently the Profit & Loss, and potentially other reports that require Accounts, always include InActive Accounts, but have the ability to exclude any Accounts with a Zero Balance. If you change the report option to Not include Accounts with Zero Balance, then you can exclude InActive accounts, but it also excludes All Active accounts with a Zero Balance. The requirement is that I need is to only exclude InActive Accounts but still include Accounts with a Zero Balance, so another Report Option to Exclude InActive Accounts. Who was the genius that decided that a payroll report should list employees alphabetically baed on their first name instead of their surname? MYOB have never done this before (for good reason). No other accounting report or ATO report or any report lists employees alphabetically based on their first name. If there is a good reason for it, I certainly cannot see it. Please either change the alphabetical listing in the reports to be based on surnames, or give the user the ability to edit the way that the reports are listed like Xero does? Bank transactions page
The update to the bank transactions page is horrible. Please reverse it back to the previous version. The reason's are: - The page used to be so clear to look at - now it's far too busy but at the same time you see half as much. - Now there's a massive header that takes up half the page and means you can only see a limited number of transactions at a time. The header doesn't contain information that is necessary to be shown all of the time, so unfreeze it. - When you're in a transaction, then you can't even see all the options in that transaction and have to scroll up and down on the half page that's it's shown on. - When you are trying to allocate a transaction and want to scroll for a code you can only see one or two code options at a time - I want to be able to see at least 10 so I know what category I'm in and the other options either side. - I also hate the bold of the transactions that are not yet coded - it makes the page look far too busy. I am considering moving to a different accounting platform because all your updates have been that s**t. I don't think I have found a good change yet. Please reinstate the function to attach PDF to invoice email by ticking the settings box. This was possible before the upgrade. The suggested resolution was that I type invoice, preview PDF, download PDF, then reattach it to the email. I would like to have the function on my myob LiveAccounts to enable me to create a Remittance Advice to send to my suppliers to advise of a payment made. Currently when I print an expense (that has already been entered with a payment) to a supplier it produces a 'Purchase Order' document showing the expense, and the payment made. However it would be more suitable for the document to be a 'Remittance Advice' and also have details on the document showing the bank information of the supplier in which the payment has been made to.Formatting of GST Number on Invoices for NZ files
The business's GST Number shows on its invoices as an unformatted 9-digit number under the business address. This is inadequate because it is not obvious what these digits are. It needs to have the words "GST Number" in front of it and preferably formatted with a dash "-" between each group of 3 digits.Setup: Large screen resolution to use full width
I run in high resolution (3840x2160) and find it rather annoying that MYOB is trying to fit everything into a narrow width (looks like it is probebly 1024 pixels wide) it would be much nicer if it scaled to the screen width. Is there a way to make MYOB use the full width of the screen? See attachment for example where it is really obviuos. This is a nice feature where MYOB opens the file in split screen so you can refer to it and transfer into into MYOB but since it only uses less than 1/3rd of my screen width I cant read it, making it useless. I end up closing the nice split panel feature in myob, putting myob on half my screen (so it at least uses 70% of that) and opening the pdf in a second window sat next to myob window so I can actually see them both. Bank transactions: Show invoice number if matched to single invoice
When you match a transaction to an invoice it always used to say on the bank feed what invoice number the transaction was allocated to, now however, in the new system, it gives it a random CR code number which you have to click on and a pop up window comes out which then tells you which invoice this has been allocated to. This to seem seems like an extra unneccesary step that leads to confusion. Please can you rever tthis to the old system which is much clearer. After the upgrade on Essentials it has become quite a process just to print an invoice. Before the upgrade we had a print button on the create invoice page which was easy, now we need to "View PFD" then click on another link which takes us to an online invoice which then allows for printing. That is ridiculus. Then when you do print it, it has a "veiw your invoice online, click here to veiw on the printed version. This is clearly a problem that needs to be fixed. Hi Team, The new Bank Transactions window needs to have a Refresh option that will refresh the list of unallocated transactions using your current preferred options. At the moment, if you use the [F5] key to refresh the window, the screen reverts back to the default sort order of oldest on top. If you have the entries sorted into any other order, these preferences are lost. Please direct your development efforts to making this software much easier to use. Thanks, AlanT
