Unable to edit deposit transaction

Hi,

I entered 8 cheque deposits into MYOB on one day and have since discovered that I have entered them into the wrong bank account.

(ie. physically deposited them into one, entered them into another)

Now MYOB will not let me change the account or delete the transactions.  I'm not sure what to do???  The account hasn't been reconciled so I know that is not the issue.

I have checked the "transactions cannot be changed...." box and it is not ticked.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated!

Re: Unable to edit deposit transaction

Hi @Jolloyd

May I ask how these transactions were entered into AccountRight? If they are processed through the "Prepare Bank Deposit" function, then they will be locked under another transaction for the Bank Deposit.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Tingety.

Re: Unable to edit deposit transaction

They were entered as an invoice, and then "receive payments".

On the old MYOB system it was easy to edit transactions (or delete completely and start again) but since I upgraded to AccountRight it doesn't let me do it anymore!

Re: Unable to edit deposit transaction

Hi @Jolloyd

Thank you for replying. May I ask what period the transactions were entered into? Such as after July 2015 or before July 2015?

Also, if you are able to see the transaction through the Transaction Journal, are you able to open the transaction and check what bank account it was deposited into?

Thank you,

Tingety.

Re: Unable to edit deposit transaction

They were all entered on 7th July 2015.

I can see them in the transaction journal and open them, but where the account is at the top of the page, it is faded and I cannot edit it.

Re: Unable to edit deposit transaction

Hi @Jolloyd

This is normal to have it faded, when a transaction is recorded. It locks the data within.

May I ask, if the bank account is for Undeposited Funds?

Thank you,

Tingety.

Re: Unable to edit deposit transaction

Hi @Jolloyd

Thank you.

If you are in the transaction information window, if you drop down the "Edit" menu. Does it have the option to Delete the Transaction or only Reverse?

Thank you,

Tingety.

Re: Unable to edit deposit transaction

When I go from the Transaction Journal into the entry (it takes me to Receive Payments) I cannot delete or reverse the transaction.

The entire "edit" menu is faded other than "recap transaction".
