Import Historical Sales and Purchases

Hi there,

Is there any way of importing historical sales and purchases in AccountRight Premier 2017.2? It doesn't seem user friendly having to manually enter all outstanding sales and purchases when starting a new company file.

Thanks,

Thomas

Re: Import Historical Sales and Purchases

Hi @ThommyLee84

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a wealth of knowledge

Pre-conversion transactions i.e. transactions dated before the conversion month are not able to be imported into the company file - only transactions dated in the current and future financial years are able to be imported.

If you do need to enter pre-conversion transactions these can be done via the Setup>>Balances>>Customer/Supplier Balances option.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Import Historical Sales and Purchases

Thanks for your answer. This is disappointing especially because for almost everything else you are able to import data. It will be time consuming to enter all outstanding invoices manually, but I guess that's one of the disadvantages having a low cost accounting solution.

Thanks,

Thomas

Re: Import Historical Sales and Purchases

Hi @ThommyLee84, if you haven't gone too far with the new file, you could export your lists (accounts, cvustomers, suppliers etc.), and create a new file with an earlier conversion date, which would allow you to import historical sales and purchases as miscellaneous or service transactions. Depends whether exporting the lists and preparing a file of transactions is less work than the manual entry of historical items.
