I am trying to save a use recurring file.

An error message appears "Error, validationEexpection" and it won't save.

What's wrong?

Re: Validation Exception when saving a recurring transaction

Hi @Haire

I suspect it's related to a specific preference that's enabled that can conflict with how Recurring Transactions are set up.

As you're receiving it with Recurring Transactions, I suggest going over the steps on this support note: Error: ValidationException

Keep me posted on how you go.

No good.

My preference "warn if jobs are not assigned" is already off

Re: Validation Exception when saving a recurring transaction

Hi @Haire

I have seen Recurring Transactions corrupt after a migration from V19 > ARL which I believe you have done sometime last year going from your posts.

As a test, could you try testing:

  • If this happens with ALL recurring transactions? (Try about 5)
  • If you create a NEW recurring transaction, does this still throw an error when editing the new one?

There was also an old issue I remember where a Recurring Transaction that was marked to save after recording had caused issues, could you check if this is enabled in the Recurring Transaction Schedule?

There might also be more details captured in the Diagnostic Log, could you please post this so we can have a look?

To find the Diagnostic Log:
1. Open your Start Menu
2. Type: %localappdata%
3. Open the %localappdata% folder:

4. Open the MYOB Folder.
5. Open the AccountRight Folder.
6. Open the Version folder (E.g: 2018.4)
7. Open the Diagnostics Folder.
8. Copy the Huxley.Application_xxxx.log file to your Desktop to get to it easier.

You can use the Choose file button on the Reply page to add files to your post as attachments.

Re: Validation Exception when saving a recurring transaction

It appears only to be this one file, I can save other previously saved quotes. I can save new ones. I can save ones I have recorded and then saved recurring

Re: Validation Exception when saving a recurring transaction

Hi @Haire

I had a look at the Diagnostic Log and I saw this code showing up: SaleQuoteLineTemplate_ItemTotalAmountUnBalanced

This has been known to throw errors even outside of Recurring Transactions, and the way to fix this is to:

  1. Tick the Tax Inclusive box, and then untick it. (Or vice versa). This will allow you to record successfully, as it forces the system to recalculate (and gets rid of the incorrect 3rd decimal place in Total column)

  2. Change the amounts on each line up by 1 cent, and then change the amount on each line back to the original value. Either of the above methods should fix the issue.

If you try this, does this then allow you to save?

Re: Validation Exception when saving a recurring transaction

Tax inclusive/exclusive button didn't work.

Might as well re-enter the quote, it will be quicker
