Today when logging in to MYOB there was an Update to install. One of the bits of info included this message:
We strongly recommend that you install this patch. You may also need to adjust your payroll if you have processed any pays containing super or other payroll-based expenses with 2020.2.
What is the issue here, and what is meant by "adjust your payroll"??? Adjust how? A more thorough explanation of the problem caused by MYOB 2020.2 would be very helpful.
What am I supposed to be looking for within my payroll reports???
How can I tell which pay runs were processed in MYOB 2020.2 (I cannot remember when I installed that update)???

Okay, so I just found this:
I will have a read through to see if this answers my questions.
Why wasn't this pinned to the top??

Hi @Bluewave
Great to hear that you have located that post on the topic.
I've also updated it recently to include an update to the thread you have linked which talks about ways to identify your superannuation is calculating as intended.

I have read through the referenced links but still would like to clarify
- which months are affected or how far back do we need to check
- as the OP I am not sure when I updated to this flawed version
apparently anything before installation of this patch should be fine but is there any way to check easily
at our end what months are affected?

Hi @TomD
Any month that you have processed a pay for in AccountRight 2020.2 could have potentially been impacted. For the most clients this will just be June 2020, however, depending on when you upgraded and processed pays May 2020 possibly have been impacted as well.
I would be looking at running the Payroll Activity Detail report. You can then take the total gross wages for the employee multiplied by 9.5% to give the expected superannuation amount. If that superannuation amount matches what is listed then you are good to go. If not, an adjustment may be required to bring that superannuation amount up to the required amount.

Hi @Steven_M
I can't find the MYOB AccountRight SE 2020.2.2 on my.myob, the latest download is dated 20/5/2020.
It tells me if I'm using SE I can't download from the patch and I need to uninstall the program and reinstall using 2020.2.2

Just remember to FIRST subtract any employee who did not earn the minimum threshold by which SGC is payable, and SECOND to treat separately any employee who is on a SET amount of Super, rather than 9.5%. Once those special cases are extracted, then the math is simple.

Oh, and of course any Overtime gross wages are not subject to SGC.

I don't believe there is an updated Server Edition for AR 2020.2.2?
Please confirm or advise when that will be available.

Hi @Lisa_BBP
The installers for AccountRight 2020.2 have been updated, so clients that download the AccountRight 2020.2 version from their my.MYOB account and other locations would be given the latest version of 2020.2. The latest version is 2020.2.2.
So, in your case, as you are using the AccountRight 2020.2 Server Edition you want to uninstall the AccountRight 2020.2 version you currently have installed and then reinstall with those AccountRight 2020.2. installers. This will give you the latest version of AccountRight 2020.2 which is 2020.2.2.
