Re: Editing Accounts list

Hi @Ally18

When you click on "View Error Details" on the error message, you should get a detailed error description log. Can you please attach it so that we can investigate it further for you?

Re: Editing Accounts list

Hi @Ally18

Thank you for providing the error log, as it did provide fair bit of understanding of what was going on with your file. Based on the error message you are receiving, there could be two possible causes for it, either there is a missing linked account or the Accounts List has not been created properly when the file was created. The second possibiltiy would apply if your company file has been recently created and does not have many transactions entered.

To identify if the issue relates to linked accounts, I would recommend going through the Error: System.NullReferenceException and making sure that all the linked accounts are set up as per the article. If you are not sure on which account to use for a specific linked account, then I would suggest checking with your accountant.

If you have checked through all of the linked accounts mentioned in the given help article and all of them are setup, then the next step would be to create a new company file. When creating the new file, I recommend not running any other programs just to ensure that they don’t have any impact on your company file creation.

Please let me know how you go with that.

Kind regards,
Komal

Re: Editing Accounts list

Hi @Ally18

In that case, can you please confirm what type of account (Header or detail) are you trying to edit? Also, what are you trying to edit in the Account Information specifically?

If you try to create a new account (as a test), does it let you do that or returns the same error regardless?

Kind regards,
Komal

Re: Editing Accounts list

Hi @Ally18

If nothing is working, I would recommend creating a new data file because that would not have any error linking to the old company file and accounts can be created or edited as you like.

You can also try creating/editing the accounts in sample "Clearwater" file as a test to rule out any environmental issues.

Kind regards,
Komal
