Some of the technologies that businesses in Australia still use are no longer covered by Microsoft's mainstream support. While these technologies will continue to function and you'll still get vital security updates, Microsoft will not supply bug fixes or other improvements, nor will you be able to speak to Microsoft for free if you need direct assistance.
So what does all this mean for your practice, and support from MYOB?
While Microsoft has ended mainstream support for those older technologies, MYOB extended our own support for Accountants Office and Accountants Enterprise when used in conjunction with older Microsoft technologies until 31 December 2017.
How do I know whether I need to upgrade?
We suggest you consult your IT professional as soon as possible to ascertain whether your technologies are affected. If your practice uses either of these server technologies, we encourage you to upgrade before 31 December 2017 to ensure we are still able to support you for:

We recently moved to Server 2016 and almost all has been going well.
The only troubling area seems to have been getting our ELS lodgements to work. Hopefully everything moves over to PLS soon and we will not need to worry about that old ELS system anyway.
