EOFY Integrity Check

We are going through the KB article 34202 and just wondering what an orphaned record is?

Thanks for your post and welcome to the MYOB Community Forum - we hope you find it a valuable resource.

 

In short, an Orphaned record is "bits left over" after something has been removed. 

 

Now, for a bunch of Technical Mumbo-Jumbo - when you do anything in the Tax software, such as creating a return, updating a field or attaching a schedule, under-the-hood a bunch of database tables get updated.  

 

Sometimes, when a record is flagged to be removed (such as deleting a schedule) some components might not get removed from the database (even though they are gone from the return).   This leaves "orphaned" records in the database - and the EOFY Integrity Check finds records such as this (a record that doesnt point to a specific return any more) and removes it.

Hi,

 

Have previwing the integrity check the report indentifies a client with a tfn not unique and to manually fix.  How can this be fixed?  I cannot see duplicate returns in the tax module.  

 

Also, when in the in the tax maintenance area the grey area displays 2014, however "Tax 2013" appears in the top left hand side of the menu.  Also the previewed report displays 2013.

Thank you for your post.

 

To manually fix any issues identified during the integrity check, please click on the following Knowledge Base article:

KB 34870: "Application Template not found" when installing Tax

 

Once you have this article opened, refer to the section called "Access the SQL Tax Folder in System Release" to access the 2014 Tax Ledger.

 

In the 2014 Tax Ledger, you will need to manually delete the duplicate returns.
