Jobkeeper top-up back payments in April

Hi,

The ATO suggests that employers can satifisy the min $3000 payment for 2 fortnights in April by the end of April.

We will have more certainty around employer eligibility later in the month.

Is it okay to do an out of cycle pay run on 28 April to backpay a top-up for eligible employees who haven't received $3000? Or does this have to be done by 26 April i.e. by the end of the 2nd jobkeeper fortnight? Wondering if 28 April for this backpayment would cause any issues for the 3rd jobkeeper fortnight (which will have our usual fortnightly pay run on 6/5)?

Re: Jobkeeper top-up back payments in April

In this scenario do the back pay top up as a separate payrun ensure it is paid by 30 April and has the JOBKEEPER-STARTFN01 attached to every employee as per the support note linked below

if there are employees who don't need a top-up ensure you include them above as a Nil value payrun with the FN01 to indicate to the ATO they are an eligible employee

then run your normal payroll for 6/5 as usual

hope that helps
