Resetting password to offline file

Hi there,

I've already found the solution to my problem but cannot execute due to some issue with this website.

Long story short: I have a court case and need access to my company files, retreiving the password is impossible from my end, the file is v14, .myo & offline. I grabbed the installer for v16, attempted to open file and got stuck on password as blank did not work. I read on another thread that I need to message the moderator who responded directly, alas, when i click private message on his profile or follow the private message link, it goes to a page tha reads private message and then nothing. Can a moderator please get in touch with me to discuss the additional information required and fee, please?pm.jpg

Re: Resetting password to offline file

Hi @TPZ_GC

If the file is not online, you will need to send it in to MYOB. See their password reset link here. This advises cost and timeframe.

If you want to reset a password yourself, send me an email for a link to a Utility that will allow you to reset the password with a code, costs $33 and quicker than sending to MYOB.

Regards

Gavin

Re: Resetting password to offline file

Hi @TPZ_GC

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find plenty of useful information.

Thank you for your post. If there are more than one Administrators for that file, they can set up a new password in the User Access window—the procedure below describes how to do this:

Open your company file.

In the Sign-in window type your User ID.

Don't see the Sign-in window when opening your file? It means you're working in an online company file. Go to the File menu and choose Switch company file user. The Sign-in window will appear.

  1. Click Change Password.

If no password has been set, leave the Existing Password field blank, otherwise, enter the password you've previously signed on to the file with.

  1. Fill in the Password and Confirm Password fields.
  2. Click Record and then sign on to the company file using the new details.

If you’re the only administrator and you’ve forgotten your password, please send me your current serial number and email address by Private Message so we can the additional information on what's required and the cost to reset the password.

Cheers,
