Just wondering if anyone can tell me if I need to complete a backup in MYOB Essentials.

As MYOB Essentials is a solely online based product it doesn't allow you to take a backup of the company data. However, if you do require a copy of your records at a set date you would be looking at running the reports on that particular date and maintaining those in a safe location.

I am not an Essentials user, so commenting in general.
Do MYOB do backups of Essentials Data ? Hourly, Daily, Weekly ?
Does MYOB take snapshots of the Essential Servers ?
Can MYOB restore data should a customer really mess things up or there is data corruption ?
By not allowing customers to take their own backups is just a 100% FAILURE.
ALL software needs a means for a customer to take their own backup.
That way if there is a failure of the MYOB servers at least the customer has a chance to have a backup of there data. It is never good practice to rely on a cloud provider or cloud software provider to offer the only means of taking you backups. MYOB sorry for have failed by not allowing your customers to backup there own data.

MYOB does regularly back up client's data in case the worst does happen. However, client's are unable to take/schedule backups of their own company information. If corruption does occur with MYOB Essentials Database we do have steps in place to investigate and work with the client to ensure that they have access to their data should that occur.
