Hi Team,
Got the email today about a new SERVER edition update MYOB AccountRight 2022.4 that will have automatic software update from now on. Woohoo finally that is great.
BUT what good is that if we are now forced to move our file ONLINE to still use STP and be compliant with STP Phase 2 by the end of this year?
Why do we need to go ONLINE Cloud to be able to be STP compliant?
Thanks
Nathan

Hi Nathan
I'm glad to hear you're happy about automatic updates for Server Edition in 2022.4. There have been changes to ATO security requirements which have impacted STP Phase 2, this means that company files do need to be online for STP Phase 2.
Please let me know if you need further help.

I have only just become aware of being FORCED to move our file online to use STP2 in MYOB. I agree with another user who has asked why you have released 2022.4SE if STP2 won't work on it.
MYOB needs to start listening to what its users want rather than making our lives more difficult by imposing changes on us or you will lose clients. I am going to start researching other accounting software as it appears MYOB don't care about what its clients want.

Another disillusioned user here, we also do NOT wish to put our Company file online.

I totally agree with the concerns of many AccountRight users that we shouldn't have to move our files online when upgrading to STP2. I'm voicing the concerns of all my clients for whom I provide payroll services, who do not want their data uploaded

I've just spent 1/2 hour on the phone to a member of the Tax Office whou also checked with her Team Leader regarding MYOB's statement that it's mandatory STP2 files need to be online. They also checked to rules of reporting through STP and couldnt find any reference to the necessity of date files needing to be online. Can anyone enlighten me on this or point me to the section of the ATO ruling that covers this

Hi @mistyben
Thank you for your feedback
As mentioned on Help Article: Getting ready for STP Phase 2 company files are required to be moved online to integrate with the ATO's online services. To have your file stored online you can upload it via File>>Go Online - this would generally be included in your subscription so there is no additional cost for that.
If you want to delay that move online we do have a deferral from the ATO. This means you have until 1 January 2023 to move your file online and start reporting to the ATO via STP Phase 2.
Kind regards,
Clover

Thanks Clover, but that doesn't address my question and from your answer am I to understand that the decision to force the move of STP2 data files online is MYOB's and not an ATO ruling
