Final Pay & Annual Leave Issue

I am trying to pay a final pay and my employee had -10 annual leave days as per her previous payslip yet MYOB is entering her annual leave as -12 days. I cannot manually change this on her final pay and I want an explanation to advise why she is being deducted at -12 days not -10 please. Help.....have been on the phone now for the 3rd time (average waiting time is 13+ minutes each time).

Re: Final Pay & Annual Leave Issue

HI @PBD

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a wealth of knowledge. If you do have enquires don't hesitate to post them so the MYOB Community can assist.

I have had a look at your account and it appears you have spoken to the phone team in regards to doing a final pay.  However it has been left unresolved so I'll thought I would give you some information to help resolve that for you. The support member that you spoke to has provided me the screenshots. I've just removed all the employee details of the screenshot for you privacy.

It appears you were questioning why the final pay is saying -12 hours not -9 hours.  It has to do with the way in which payroll shows that annual leave information.

Current Annual leave Due is the amount of leave that you owe to the employee (or in your case they owe you). The Leave accrued in Advance box is an estimated value of the leave they have accrued since the start of the new holiday anniversary. It is a calculation basis on the Current pay ended on date, holiday anniversary date and the annual leave entitlement. As its an estimated value it shouldn't be included in the final pay. The Leave accrued in Advance is generally covered by the Holiday Pay Due amount (which is 8% of gross wages since the start of the holiday anniversary).

The values that you should be paying for a final pay is the Current Annual Leave due and Holiday Pay Due amounts. So based on the screenshots you have provided to the support member it is doing your final pay correctly.

For more information into Leave accrued in Advance please see Support Note: Leave Accrued in Advance calculation in Payroll

If you would like some additional information or further assistance in regards to your final pay and the leave amount do let us know.

Kind regards,
Steven
