We have recently changed to a new remote desktop server and this is the first payroll. We are running Win 8. The MYOB system is not linking something relating to the message below and encryption has been lost. Can you assist us what to do? I read a post from 2014 that said MYOB was working on a fix - has this been fixed yet?

Hello @ConInn
Sorry to hear you are getting this error message, generally this happens if you have the option "Password protect pay slips emailed or sent to MyStaffinfo" ticked in the Tools>>Options>>Leave.
Can you deselect this option if you have it selected and see how you go?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

I have recently run into this same issue, and removing the passwords from the payslip PDF files is not an acceptable option.
Do you have an actual fix for this issue, running on Windows Server 2012 R2?
I assume it is something to do with the MYOB AO PDF virtual printer that payroll creates.

Hi @BillTheNerd
New Zeland Payroll is not supported on Windows Server 2012. This is due to the fact that its designed to be installed on a local computer and is licensed as a single user program.
However in terms of that error the workaround of disabling that preference allows those PDFs to get created and emailed to the employees. This is a workaround to clients receiving that message, you can look at reinstalling the AO PDF Printer (you would need to reinstall Payoll as well) in some cases this has worked for some clients.

Thanks Steven. I am using Payroll on the local computer as a single user program in this instance.
I have worked around this problem by disabling encryption, but I'd rather find the source of the trouble and fix that.
I had the same issue after installing Payroll on Windows 10 as well.

Hi @BillTheNerd
Fantastic its great to hear that you have used the workaround.
As mentioned you could look at reinstalling the AO PDF Printer (and Payroll), it has worked in some cases. For more information into reinstalling Payroll please see Support Note: Uninstalling and reinstalling Payroll
