annual leave entitlement

A permanent fulltime employee started with us in May.  We close for a two week period during christmas.  I know they are entitled to the four day statutory holidays, do i also pay them out any holiday pay /days they have accrued since May or do I wait until their year is up and then process annual leave accordingly.

Re: annual leave entitlement

Not really a software question
That is a bit like using Google for a doctor's opinion
You can get plenty of answers but unlikely any will be from a qualified medical practitioner
In Australia we have Fair Work Australia which governs workers rights and entitlements
New Zealand would most likely have a similar statutory body, who would be able to give you a definitive answer
Please mark as a solution if you find this has assisted you with your enquiry

Re: annual leave entitlement

Hi there,

You can certainly pay out leave in advance using the ANHL code, up to the $ amount they have accrued. Don't pay more than this, otherwise you can't get it back if they leave. This will then come off their entitlement when the anniversary date comes around.
