I will be traveling overseas in october, and need to do my payroll while Im away.
I notice that payroll is not in the cloud yet, so to do this from another computer while traveling, can I save my payroll onto google drive as well as my backup files so that I can axcess them from any other computer?
I have the latest version of payroll 2015.1

Hi there,
Are you taking a computer with you? You would need to load Payroll onto the computer you are going to process from and have a backup of your payroll restored on this computer to be able to access it.

Sorry was also going to add - you could store your backups on google drive, but I wouldn't run the data from this location - the local drive is far safer.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I plan to just take a notebook with me, so I can save a copy of the program onto that before I leave, just didnt know if it could all be done from google drive. Sounds like maybe its not that safe then? just the backup files then?

Hi @Smugglers
Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a wealth of knowledge. If you do have enquires don't hesitate to post them so the MYOB Community can assist.
You might want to take a look at Support Note: Moving MYOB software to a new computer for further information into moving Payroll to a new computer so you can work on it while you are travelling.
In relation to Google Drives or other third party cloud based systems, we do not recommend having the payroll folders located in that location. Payroll is designed to be a single user program and therefore is designed to be installed directly on the one computer*. You also may be get into trouble if you used a third party cloud based system to store the data for opening with corruptions and errors. Please note I am referring to storing the payroll folders directly on the cloud based system for you to open up, keeping backups and copies of reports in that system is fine and in fact would recommend it.
*It will allow you to use the program on multiple computers so moving the company file across to a laptop to travel overseas is fine.
