JobKeeper start code has cent amounts in STP

Hi everyone

When JobKeeper was introduced employers needed to notify the ATO of the fortnight they started paying JobKeeper.

Originally this was done by creating a JOBKEEPER-START-FNxx payroll category, processing a pay with 0.01 allocated to that start code and -0.01 to PAYG. Then we added the JobKeeper payments tab to the Payroll Reporting Centre to make that notification process easier. When you notified the ATO through the JobKeeper payments tab, the software created a 0.01 transaction allocated to the start fortnight code as part of the process.

Both of these methods result in cent amounts being allocated to the JOBKEEPER-START-FNxx codes in STP reports. These cent amounts can safely be ignored.

Cheers,
Tracey

It was processed correctly with the 0.01 - but doesn't explain why the STP now showes 2c in that area

Re: JobKeeper start code has cent amounts in STP

Hi @dobbo

Each time you notify the ATO of the start fortnight 0.01 is allocated to the START-FN code. So if you have processed a 0.01 pay and notified through the JobKeeper payments tab you will see 0.02 on the STP reports.

Please let me know if you need further help.

Cheers,
Tracey

Re: JobKeeper start code has cent amounts in STP

@Tracey_H

I processed 3 employees using the JOBKEEPER START FN## process. Then later on (August) I notified ATO via the new Jobkeeper tab of the start fortnight (April) for these employees. Is that a problem?

Hi @ShaneWr

The START-FNxx pay process was the original method, then we added the JobKeeper payments tab to make the process easier. If you've have notified the same start fortnight using both methods. that's fine and won't cause any problems.
