Upgrading with Premier or Enterprise Features

Hi Everyone,

At the time of this post, there are 3 specific features used in MYOB Premier & Enterprise software releases that are currently not supported in the new software and they will prevent you from upgrading.

Here’s what to look out for:

Available in: MYOB AccountRight Premier & AccountRight Enterprise (Premier Enterprise)

If you have current, or historical, transactions in foreign currencies, this will prevent the file from upgrading to the new Software.

If you have the preference turned on but never entered a transaction, you simply need to turn off the preference to allow the upgrade.

To check this:

  1. Go to: Setup > Preferences > System > I deal in Multiple Currencies [System-wide]
  2. Ensure the Preference is disabled.
  3. Click OK and attempt to upgrade the file to AccountRight 2018 (See: Upgrading your AccountRight v19 file online and offline)

If you have transactions, you will get the following message:

If you get this message, you will not be able to upgrade to the new Software just yet. Though we are currently developing the Multi Currency features into the New Software as we speak.

(Note: If you don't use Multi-Currency anymore but still want to upgrade, see our help article: Upgrading a multi-currency company file

You can check out the details of Multi Currency by viewing this link: Multi-currency Beta

Available in: MYOB AccountRight Enterprise (Premier Enterprise)

With the preference, this will prevent you from upgrading to the new AccountRight. You can deselect this in the Preferences.

To check this:

  1. Go to: Setup > Preferences > Inventory > Allow the Sale of Items with Insufficient On-Hand Quantities [System-wide]
  2. Ensure the preferences is deselected.
  3. Click OK and attempt to upgrade the file to AccountRight 2018 (See: Upgrading your AccountRight v19 file online and offline)

If you have any Items with an On-hand value less than 0, you will get this message:

temp.png

To get this ready to move, you need to have Quantities of 0 or more. You can use the Count Inventory function to count 0 where there are negatives. See: Performing stocktakes

Once you have set the Item Quantities to 0, you can disable the Preference. This should then allow you to upgrade. Please note that this feature will not be available in the new software.

Available in: MYOB AccountRight Enterprise (Premier Enterprise)

If you have more than 1 Location in your software this will prevent the file from upgrading. If we have not used the other Location(s), then we can simply delete this Location.

To check this:

  1. Go to: Inventory > Locations
  2. Check if there are any more than the Primary Location
    1. If you do not have more than 1 Location; you’re free to upgrade.
    2. If you do have other locations; You can open the Location and go: Edit > Delete.

If you have entered transactions with the other locations in use, you will get this message:

If you get this message, you will not be able to upgrade to the new Software just yet. Though rest assured that we are working on getting this feature into the later software to let you upgrade later.

As the highest Product Level in AccountRight 2018 is AccountRight Premier, we will need to downgrade your MYOB Licence if you wish to make the move to the new AccountRight. To get this organised you can contact us or Start a new Post and the Moderator Team will be happy to assist.

Cheers,
Hayden
