Salary Sacrfice - Overpayment

We have had an issue where a couple of employees have been overpaid the annual amount for the FBT year and are looking to amend this, we though processing a pay with a positive Salary Sacrifice amount for the amount over the limit (so that the annual amount is then within the correct threshold) then processing this amount as their normal pay in March.

This would leave the only difference being the PAYG on the pays, which the Employee would have to physically pay back to the business?

Is this a suitable solution or is there a better way to go about this?

Re: Salary Sacrfice - Overpayment

Hi @Moonee24,

Thank you for your post, and welcome to the Community Forum!

In most cases, if there are just a few incorrect payments, it's often recommended to delete or reverse them and then reprocess the payroll. However, when dealing with multiple incorrect payments for an employee, adjusting the overpayment in the next pay run might be a viable solution tailored to what the employee prefers. You have options like entering a negative salary sacrifice amount on the next pay run or processing a separate pay for the adjustment. For more details, you can check out this Help article: Fixing a payroll overpayment or underpayment.
