Changing Payroll Platform mid year Action Required

Hi, we are changing to Employment hero from doing our payroll in Myob Accountright Live due to privacy issues.

We are only bringing across leave balances (not YTD gross figures etc) into the new system

Just wondering should we follow the EOFY year steps to 'close the year' in MYOB so that the ATO STP recognises there will be no further payments submitted from the MYOB system? or how would we trigger the ATO to realise this?

https://help.myob.com/wiki/display/myob/End+of+year+finalisation+with+Single+Touch+Payroll+reporting...

Thanks in advance!

Accepted Solution Solved

Re: Changing Payroll Platform mid year Action Required

HI @ConnieD

Thanks for your post. When changing payroll software mid-year you need to follow the ATO's instructions: Changing payroll solutions during a financial year

As per those ATO instructions if you choose not to transfer the YTD amounts you need to finalise employees in both payroll solutions. So you're correct that you will need to follow the steps in the EOFY finalisation help article.

Please let me know if you need further help with this.
