ETP Lump Sum D

Hi,

Sorry I'm a bit confused.  I am processing a termination payment which includes genuine redundancy.  Why my MYOB is withholding a tax on the ETP-Lump Sum D payment?  I was expecting it to give tax-free (as in NIL PAYG withholding) as the payment is within the tax-free limit.  Is there something wrong in my MYOB set up or am I expected to just manually NIL the PAYG?

Thanks in advance.

Re: ETP Lump Sum D

Hi @JonB1

AccountRight will treat any wage category as being included in the wages to be taxable unless you have indicated that it should not be.

To make a category not included in the taxable wages amount complete the following process:

  1. Navigate to Payroll>>Payroll Categories
  2. Select Wages
  3. Choose the required wages payroll category
  4. Select the Exempt button (top of the Wages Information window)
  5. Tick the PAYG Withholding payroll category
  6. Select OK and then OK

The following process will make that wages payroll category not be included in the PAYG withholding calculations.

Please consult your accounting advisor, the ATO and/or Fair Work Australia (or a similar organisation) for more information on the requirements of making or not making exempt from PAYG.

Kind regards,
Steven
