If that option is not listed, I would recommend ensuring that you are logging into the company file as the AccountRight Live Owner and that your ABN is listed as a Sole Trader and/or Private Company within the Australian Business Registry. Do ensure that you are using AccountRight 2020.2 or later. If you are still requiring assistance with that setup process we do recommend contacting our team by submitting a case via myaccount.myob.com Warning – watch out for fake (spam / phishing) emails pretending to be from MYOB UPDATE 31/01/2025: Please scroll down for new comments with important updates. The latest As well as attempts information to help protect you against people trying to gain access to a customers legitimate software, we have a tip for avoiding what happens next. Typically one of two things will occur. The scammer will try to update the bank account to their own and issue invoices on behalf of the business. Or they will send invites to people to 'join' their software, but when the person clicks 'I accept' they are redirected to external websites. This is more likely to trick an accountant or bookkeeper as they would regularly receive invites to join their clients files To help protect yourself, make sure you were expecting to be invited to a file before clicking accept. And also make sure that you hover your mouse over the 'I accept' button to see what URL you will be directed to (see image) Stay vigilant everyone - we got this! > Posted by MikeG1 Previous important information/updates Hi all, We’ve learned that some clients have received emails containing fake invoices that direct people to a website where malware may be installed on their computer. Here's an example of what one of these fake emails looks like. Note that it was sent from one of the following email addresses or domains: noreply@myob-australia.com noreply@myobaustralia.org noreply@myobnetwork.com noreply@financialaccountant.info noreply@myobemail.com agustin.lopez@pasquel-hermanos.com noreply@app.myob360.com nonreply@apps.myobexpress.com noreply@apps.myob-online.com @skinpired.co.uk @sage-one.net @myobcenter.com account@craftedeals.com.au lionhotelshropshire.co.uk innowood.com enabling.net Or another non myob.com email address They will show a non-MYOB link when you hover over the link Below is a copy of the known fraudulent links: hxxp://runrelays.com/invoicelist.php hxxp://url1027.ravnzone.com/link/8214657b6fff8305bec2d77943383aeb hxxp://url0510.bornocare.com/link/ hxxp://ifihadtwolives.com/process hxxps://arednfound.com/invoicelist.php hxxps://hms-group.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?u=68b4cd8940c89334dc9a72421&id=e3514044c9&e=d2cee9eb72 Here's what a real MYOB email looks like.: (Note that it was sent from AccountRight@apps.myob.com and hovering on the link shows that it starts with http://links.apps.myob.com ) We strongly recommend not clicking on links in messages that come from strange or unrecognised email addresses. We’d also like to remind people to ensure they have good anti-virus protection installed, make sure their software is up-to-date and they have firewalls in place. We have alerted the relevant authorities about this scam and we are actively working with them to block the websites in question. Here are some tips to protect yourself against fraudulent emails: Only open emails from email addresses that you trust. Legitimate invoices from MYOB small business products will only come from accountright@apps.myob.com or noreply@apps.myob.com Check that any links are valid before clicking on them. Links from genuine MYOB emails to external sites will always start with links.apps.myob.com. Ask yourself if you expected to receive the email. Check it against previous emails from the same company. Does the email address, design and style of writing match what you usually receive? Use common sense. If you’re not sure, use an external method of communication (such as a phone number from the company’s website) to contact the company that sent the email. If you are unsure whether an email message from MYOB is genuine or if you’d like further clarification, you’re welcome to post on the MYOB Community Forum. Re: Invalid Fingerprint Error Hi Everyone! Below are some frequently asked questions about using the tool and around this space: My browser is indicating that the download is to be discarded? Due to the way the tool has been developed, your browser may prompt you to discard that download. Should that occur you want to select the Keep option. Upon running the tool I am encountering the following error? This message is caused by not having some necessary Microsoft Components installed that are required by the tool. The following would be needed to be installed to allow that tool to be run. Microsoft SQL Server 3.5 - install this one first Microsoft SQL Server 4.0 Have run the tool and it is now indicating I have reached by transaction limit or asking to confirm the file? This is normal behaviour for company files that have had the tool run over them. Do select to Confirm the company file online and follow the on-screen messages. Invalid Fingerprint Error Hi Everyone Products: AccountRight Got a question about using the below tool? There is a second post on this thread that does answer commonly asked questions - scroll down to see that post or click here. We have seen a number of cases of offline company files that, following an AccountRight upgrade, are not opening or closing unexpectedly or generating a "Something has gone wrong message." This article contains information on identifying if you are impacted and running the necessary tool required to repair that file to allow it to be opened: How do you determine you are impacted? Following an AccountRight upgrade, if you are not able to open an offline company file, or you are encountering a "Something has gone wrong" message do check out the diagnostic file for the application - this can be opened in NotePad or another similar application. If you are needing to run the following tool, that diagnostic file would contain traces of the wording "InvalidFingerPrint" Example line in diagnostic file would: MYOB.Huxley.UI.Decorators.DecoratorFaultProcessor,Error,1,Unhandled error. : MYOB.Huxley.API.HuxleyActivationException: (InvalidFingerprint): Running the Tool: If you do see cases of "InvalidFingerprint" in that diagnostic file, do look at completing the following steps: Close AccountRight Download the following tool: AccountRight Hotfix tool Having trouble accessing the download? Right-click and select Save Link as Navigate to where you have saved that file - typically the Downloads folder on your computer Find the Hotfix tool zipped file (Data Hotfix - Invalid Fingerprint error - AccountRight 2020.2.zip) and select to extract the data - typically right-click and Extract All... Once extracted, select to run the AccountRight_Hotfix.exe file. This will open the tool: Please note that depending on your IT setup you may need to be logged on as the Windows Administrator. Browse to the impacted file and select Open once located Indicate that you have a backup of the file and then Apply. Should you be successful you would encounter the following message: Once you have that message, close the tool and open the file in AccountRight as per normal. Note: You may be prompted to re-confirm upon opening but this can be done online using the Confirm Online function. Re: Sales role access Hi Chuck_Mak Just testing a user that only has Sales level of access to an MYOB Business file I have been able to successfully open invoices from the Invoice page. If you are experiencing a different situation, I would recommend ensuring that the user doesn't have any other roles assigned to them. You may also want to try to cancel their access and then re-invite them to the file. If that situation is still occurring then, does the same thing occur if that user logs in on a different computer? Do other users experience this situation or is it just that individual user? Re: Invoice and Quote No.s Messed Up Hi Jewool Thank you for the feedback As you have indicated, with the MYOB Business platform the system will have a shared invoice number sequence across quotes and invoices. This does mean that users can track that transaction using one number in their system. Re: separating invs from emails Hi rjnixon10 I've just moved your idea from the MYOB Business Idea Exchange so we can get some additional information in relation to it. Provided that the In Tray documents are added as two separate documents to the In Tray then the documents will be separated in MYOB Business's In Tray i.e. they are treated as two separate documents. If you recieve a PDF with multiple individual transactions you would need to seperate these manually into individual documents before adding/sending them to the In Tray. Want to avoid calling?
