Removing the $450 per month threshold for super guarantee eligibility

As a part of the 2021-22 Federal Budget from 1 July 2022, employers will need to pay super to their employees who earn less than $450 per month, provided they meet other eligibility requirements.

How will this change be implemented in MYOB Essentials? Is there anything further from our end that will need to be updated in MYOB Essentials to make sure super is being calculated correctly from this date?

Thanks for your post. When that change comes into affect you will need to remove the $450 threshold from the Super guarantee pay item. As there are eligibility requirements this change will not be automatic.

UPDATE: The removal of the $450 threshold will now be automatically removed by your MYOB software from July 1st, 2022.

Please note I just ran a payroll for period 13 to 26 June and the $450 threshold has already been removed from MYOB.  I have two employees that never meet the threshold and when I went to process the super payment they were included!
