Hi
This might seem like a strange question but,,,
In INVENTORY - SET ITEM PRICES, there is a column labelled "CURRENT PRICE"
What is it exactly??
(Funny how when i google or look up MYOB help files and search 'current price' i get everything BUT an explanation of what current price is)

The Current Price listed in the Set Item Prices would be the current selling price of the item. This can be found in the item's record by selecting the Selling Details>>Base Selling Price.
In terms of the Set Items Price window directly, that field is would be what the item's Base Selling Price would be after select Ok. So, if changes are made to that price in this window this would also be reflected in the Item's record in that Base Selling Price.

Hi
Thank you for the reply,
But how is the current price calculated by default?

As mentioned, the Calculated Price is the Base Selling Price of the item. By default, when creating an item this would be $0.00 and the user could override that to be the price that they wanted to sell the item at.
If you are wondering what the Base Selling Price should be for an item, we would not be able to advise on that as it's a strategic business decision as to what you sell your goods at.

Hi
Actually we do not enter any pricing information with the items, not under buying details or selling details.
We add the prices with each purchase and sale.
Some figures under 'current price' do indeed show a '0', but many others do not?
So we were just wondering how MYOB is deriving the 'current price' we are seeing in the set item price register?
What is the trigger for it to show a figure on some items, but not on others?

Actually,
i checked a different MYOB company file for another branch... and all the current price says 0.... since we never told them to mess with item prices!
So someone in our office must have messed with item prices at some point in the past.... mystery solved!
Thank you
