Account List Import Error 531

When I Import an Accounts List for a new company file I'm getting "Warning 531: Account Type cannot be specified for header accounts; default substituted".

What it does is import the account as a header but makes it inactive so I have to make it a detail account then switch it back to header.

Why does it do this?

Re: Account List Import Error 531

Hi @SharonMaguire

Without the import file that you are using it is hard to actually tell why it is doing that directly. However, I would have it a guess that you have a record listed in the matching Header field when importing that data into AccountRight. As a result, it is treating that account as a header account.

My recommendation would be to review the date you are using to ensure that you are not including anything in the Header column for your data. In addition to that, when matching the fields within AccountRight's Import and Export Assistant do ensure that you are either A) Matching the data that contains the header information with the Header field or B) not matching that field.

Kind regards,
Steven
