User access to Jobs List

I have seen the same question asked in 2015 but it didn't appear to have any resolution. Is it possible to allow access to the Jobs List area of AccountRight without have the Accountant/Bookkeeper Box ticked. Is there any workaround to provide access to the Jobs List and Job Detail reports for someone without Accountant/Bookkeeper access.

Re: User access to Jobs List

Hi @HCBC

There have been changes to the user access from some of those earlier versions. The big one that will impact your enquiry, and is great news for you, is the ability to manage/define what roles you have within the company file. In short, you can now pick and choose what features/functions you can have for a role.

In Setup>>User access, there is the option for Manage Roles. Using this window you can choose the role and enable (or disable) the access that role has. For example, if you wanted the Sales role to have access to the Jobs List, Jobs, Job budgets... you would select that role on the left-hand side, select the desired category and then enable/tick that feature/function access.

In terms of reports, it's a case of you need to have the relevant tab access in the Index to Reports. For example, as the Job reports are located under the Accounts section in the Index to Reports, the Reports>>Accounts option does need to be enabled.

Help Article: Set up roles has more information on that functionality including creating your own role.

Kind regards,
Steven
