Activity statement auto-creation

"If you have clients who lodge their own activity statements, you can remove the statements lodged by your client from your outstanding list of obligations."

What happens if we don't?

I've just been told that (unlike with the activity statement obligations list in AO), having an activity statement on our list to be lodged in MYOB Practice means the client won't receive it.

I don't doubt the person who told me, as they attended MYOB training, but I can't find confirmation.

Grateful for any help!

    Hi lizbud,

Thanks for your post. When activity statements appear in the list on MYOB Practice, it indicates that the activity statement form has been created. However, clients will not receive notifications until the form has been reviewed, a copy is sent during the "send to client" step, and it's finally lodged with the ATO during the "lodge" step. For more details, please refer to this help article. Auto-create activity statements, Subscribe to ATO reports (for auto-creating activity statements) and Selecting the activity statements periods for lodgment.

Feel free to post again, we're happy to help!

    Thanks for your reply Earl.

I don't think I was very clear in my question.

I have been told that, for clients who do their own activity statements, I need to untick those activity statements in MYOB Practice, or the client will not receive them from the ATO to complete themselves (as it's assumed we're doing them).

I wanted to check this, as it seems unlikely.

Also, I do like to see all outstanding activity statements so I can remind clients to do them if they haven't!

Are you able to clarify please?

    Hi,

Still hoping to get an answer to my query.

Also, not sure if this is related, but we've found that we're now having to manually lodge all PAYG instalment notices in OSfA (status 'non-lodgable' in MYOB) - even the ones which previously would have auto-lodged.

    Can you advise?
