I prepare my budget on a cash basis however many of my clients pay their invoices anything between 7-30 days. I'm currently adjusting the Accrual budget analysis in Excel each month to see the actual process and would be a large timesaver having this report added. "Report to add - Cash P&L budget analysis" Report: Profit and loss - Indication of accounting basis The following reports in LiveAccounts should be clearly marked as Cash or Accruals basis in the browser reports before it is exported: Profit & Loss Statement GST detailed report Currently this option is hiding under the 'Report Options', and you need to click on this hyperlink to be able to see whether it is cash or accruals. Whilst the system may remember the last selection, it is very difficult to identify whether someone else has changed the selection since last looking at these reports. It can get very confusing if you expect a certain report based on one accounting method and rely on it to find out later that someone else had changed it to the other accounting method and that you've prepared your BAS / accounts incorrectly. This used to be clearly shown before it was consolidated and hidden beneath the 'Report options' and I'd like to see it brought back. "Reports clearly identified as Cash or Accruals in browser before exporting" Report: Profit and loss - Cash to show General Journal entries I have just found out that the Cash Profit & Loss Statement does not include General Journal Entries. All businesses reporting on a cash basis for their income tax returns will be processing general journal entries (depreciation / items purchased by Directors on private cards etc) and they won't have correct Profit & Loss Statements. Its tax time now and I'd hate to think of the number of incorrect tax returns lodged because of this software error. This report has been available for 7 months now and I find it hard to believe that this is still an issue. This issue affects all of my LiveAccount clients. I look forward to having this fixed ASAP. "LiveAccounts Cash Profit & Loss needs to include General Journal Entries" Spend money: Ability to take a photo of receipts and attach to transaction I'd like the ability to take a photo of receipts and then attach them to the transaction in the banking screen. This will make it really easy for businesses to keep their records and also will help bookkeepers and accountants when working on their client's file. I've got a few clients who would really benefit from this as they are constantly travelling and loosing the actual receipts. It will also save the accountants asking for copies of invoices if they are already attached to the transaction. I've recently spoken with a couple of people who raved about this functionality that their online software provider has and it would be great if MYOB's customers could do the same. "Ability to take a photo of receipts and attach to transaction (via app?)" Setup: Ability to take backup of data Having either (or both) offline and backup functionality added to LiveAccounts would be great points of difference for a web-browser based accounting package. MYOB prides itself with the AccountRight Live software being the only cloud accounting package which can be used offline should the MYOB server go down or the internet connection lost. This needs to be applied to LiveAccounts. A lot of people won't use online only software because The LiveAccounts servers have gone down on multiple occasions stopping us from accessing our financial data and we have no idea how long the outage lasts until the solution/(s) have been found. If a offline or backup functionality was added to LiveAccounts then we'd still be able to access our accounts when we need to. Being locked out of your accounting file for hours is not acceptable. "Backup functionality required for LiveAccounts so we can still access accounts when server crashes" Report: Audit Trail / Session Report / Track changes by users I would like to see a Session Report and Audit Trail style reports available in LiveAccounts. The Session Report will allow us bookkeepers / accountants to print off the list of adjustments we did and forward to the client so they can learn the best coding practices. The Audit Trail report would show which user has done what when - so we can see if/when a transaction has been adjusted and why. This allows the owners to keep track of what their employees have done as well as which transactions have been editied by their bookkeeper or accountant. Email: Directly from software I use Gmail (part of Google Apps) for my business and I'd love to be able to email invoices / payslips directly from MYOB using gmail without needing to instal a third party software package. I'm aware at the moment, only software which is MAPI compliant can be used as mail program. It would save a lot of time if this can be changed somehow so that webmail can also be used. There are posts on this forum saying a third party software package is available to be used for those of us who use Gmail or other webmail products however it would be great if we didn't need to instal this to be able to use the email functionality within MYOB. "Emailing from MYOB directly to webmail (gmail google apps) without third party software" Time Billing: Multiple activity rates for employees Small businesses need to have multiple time billing rates for each employee. At the moment we are restricted to only one. It would be great if it can be increased to a minimum of 5. I have multiple businesses which require this facillity. The Managing Director has different charge out rates to the employees and there are multiple activities that everyone works on for their clients. Currently we need to duplicate the activity for each employee with a different charge out rate and hope that each employee uses the correct activity (with their correct charge out rate attached). The likelyhood of errors is very high and it can become rather confusing for employees as well. I look forward to seeing this in the very near future. "Need multiple time billing rates per employee" Payroll: Employee's age shown when processing pay I'd like to see the Employee age included in the Pay Employee window. Most awards have a pro-rated amount for those under 21 years old. For our young employees, as soon as they have a birthday their pay rate increases until they hit 21. Currently we need to have a separate system keeping track of all employee's birthdays so that we don't miss out their pay increase. Our clients who employ many people of various ages have a pay category for each age group. Having the employee's age showing in the Pay Employee window will help us identify whether the pay category for that employee is correct or whether we need to change it without needing to rely on another software package. This will also help those users who don't engage a bookkeeper to do their payroll to get it right. "Employee age included in Pay Employee window" Report: Activity Slip [Customer Detail] - Wrap the Notes field Hi, It would be really good if the text for Notes and Memo fields within all reports be wrapped if the number of characters in the field exceeds the space on the page so we can see all the details. One report I use on a daily basis which is affected is the Activity Slip [Customer Detail] report under the Time Billing section. The Notes section of this report does not wrap text when the text exceeds the space on the page. I use this report to prepare my invoices for my clients and I need to see the complete notes section. The Activity Slip Notes section allows you to type in a decent narration but then the report won't allow you to see the full amount. I also need this report on a Portrait orientation so I can make my necessary notes on this page without it going onto another page. If I have it as a landscape orientation I need a second page to cover all my notes and this doesn't work. The other report used on a regular basis is the General Ledger detail. The Memo column also needs to be wrappable so you can see the whole memo on either portrait or landscape orientations. There's not enough room to expand this column to see the full amount whilst keeping all the other information you need. I need to have these in a non-adjustable format (eg. PDF) for record keeping purposes and I'd like to be able to see the full memo without needing to open the MYOB file at a later date. It is possible to export these reports to Excel but you then need to do a lot of re-formatting for it to fit a portrait A4 page width again before printing to PDF however this is very timeconsuming. It would be much easier if these fields wrapped the text. I know it is possible as there are already columns in some reports which are already wrap text enabled (eg. Activity Slip [Customer Detail] Activity column). "Text for Notes and Memo fields within all reports should be wrapped"
