Payroll bank file with Apple Products

Hi,

I have tried to do the Payroll from home on an Apple Ipad but the bank file generated has never worked.

Has anyone had any luck doing this and what am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Re: Payroll bank file with Apple Products

Hello @Connockity

In these cases, you should delete the original Electronic payment then go into each individual transaction and make sure there is a statement text. Then recreate the ABA file.

Please note that both Supplier & Employee cards have a Statement Text field, which should be filled out prior to paying electronically.

If these are filled in can you please give me some more details as to the issue, are you getting any error messages? where during the process is it not working?

Please let me know how you go.

Kind regards,
Chris

Re: Payroll bank file with Apple Products

HI Chris,

When I save the file in my ipad, it doesn't work when I go to ANZ and try to upload the file for payment.

Re: Payroll bank file with Apple Products

Hello @Connockity

Sorry for the delay in my response.

If you are with ANZ and experiencing issues you should select the Self-Balancing transaction option, found in the Banking tab of your selected account.

This should allow you to upload through to ANZ.

If possible, does it work when you go to process through a computer? or is the same issue happening?

Kind regards,
Chris

Re: Payroll bank file with Apple Products

Sorry Chris - I can't even find a banking tab in my ANZ account.

This only happens with Apple products - when I use Windows Based computer it is fine.

ANZ doesn't like what Apple products do to the ABA file.

Re: Payroll bank file with Apple Products

I found a banking tab under the MYOB account used to pay the bills/payroll but the banking tab is greyed out.

Re: Payroll bank file with Apple Products

Hello @Connockity

Is the banking tab only greyed out while logging into the iPad or when you log in from the desktop as well?

Can you please  generate the ABA on the iPad and then send that to your computer? Does the file upload successfully? If so, then we know that the file is working as expected and it's an upload user error or a bank problem.

If it is a bank problem, I would recommend you consult your bank as the file that is being generated is working as intended and it's the banking part that is failing.

Please let me know how this goes.

Kind regards,
Chris

Re: Payroll bank file with Apple Products

HI Chris,

The banking tab is greyed out on the Windows based computer.

I don't know whether the file works on a Windows based computer as when I want to use it I am at home with a Apple iPad.

I would assume it wouldn't as it doesn't seem to save it with the ABA file extension - and yes I have attempted to resave the file with an ABA extension but it still doesn't work.

Surely this isn't a hard question - are there others who have tried this?

So many people have Apple products I am flabbergasted that there isn't a solution already worked out here.

Re: Payroll bank file with Apple Products

Hello @Connockity

Thank you for that, with that information I was able to look into this more. You will need to be using a windows device to be able to download the .aba file. It's not working from the Ipad because you need the file downloaded does need to be a .aba file.

Currently,
iPads aren't able to download '. aba' files. If you don't have access to a laptop or computer, you may be able to get an app from the Apple store that'll allow you to download these file types.

Kind regards,
Chris
