Hi all,

I’d like to start today by thanking everyone for contributing to the ongoing success of the Community Forum. We had a record-breaking month in July and expect to pass 50,000 registered users by the end of next month.

July saw the largest number of unique visitors to the Community Forum that we have ever seen in a month. We also recorded the largest number of questions asked in a month. And MYOB staff posted the largest number of messages in a month.

Now that the busy end of financial year period in Australia is officially over, it is starting to get a little quieter here on the Community Forum. However, we still welcomed another 220 new members to the community last week and over 550 posts were made, including 210 from MYOB staff.

Our top contributors last week were Murray_McKenzie, Mike_James, David_Cree, jenniek, ronatbas. Well done also to ronatbas, jenniek, Mike_James and Murray_McKenzie who had multiple posts marked as Accepted Solutions. A huge thanks to all those community members who shared their knowledge, wisdom and expertise on the forum last week.

Now that we are well into new financial years in both Australia and New Zealand, we will soon look at adding some new functionality to the Community Forum.

At the top of my wish list is enabling community users to customise the front page of the forum to list their favourite boards in the order of their preference and see at a glance the most recent activity on those selected boards. Sorting the order of your favourite boards would be a simple drag-and-drop process.

Improving our ranking structure for users is also overdue. We want to introduce new ranks to better recognise and reward our most active contributors. We also think ranks and badges are a great way to give community users confidence that they are being assisted by a trusted and experienced expert in their field. We think the new system we have proposed should also be much easier for all to understand.

We hope to have more information on these positive changes to the forum very soon. And if you ever have any suggestions for forum improvements that would make business life easier for you, please let me know. Any feedback about forum functionality, whether it’s positive and negative, is always very welcome and most appreciated. We want to ensure the forum continues to be a really useful resource for all and provides invaluable assistance for getting the most out of MYOB software and services.

Love your work,

Jason Hill
