Hi Mike,
Sorry but I looged a case 10 days ago and no one has got back to me!!
I am using happily AccountRight Standard AU 2020.3.1 I do NOT need any newer features as I just use it to log transactions, GST and for my BAS. Can I continue using this after the deadline of June 17th? or MUST this be upgraded to online version? I do not need payroll or anything online but I do notice that it confirms my company file when I use the files. Can you please confirm that I can continue using happily with the current features ONLY? Thank you
Hi Gordons2
Or you could just try Random_nuggets solution below. Given you haven't been updating a fairly old version, then I doubt you would have the auto upgrade feature anyway but just in case:
A simpler, more surgical method is as follows:
- a) Open the folder in which MYOB is installed. Typically this will be in:
C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Programs\MYOB\AccountRight
- b) Inside that folder you will find a program file named Update.exe. Simply rename this program file to, say, "Update-disabled.exe". Voila! No more updates!. When AccountRight is next started, it will fail to find its auto-update program, and then carry on running the software as is.
I have successfully tested this approach since the AR 2026.3 release (PC edition).
Cheers

Hi Liz,
Thank you for the suggestion. On checking I do not have the auto upgrade active.
Much appreciated for advice in this MYOB troubling time.
Cheers,
Gordon

how to do this when the update is already forced to the latest, I had to download 2026.4.0 to be able to open my file and in there it already has the update! This is a joke, I do not want to be forced into a subscription when I purchased a perpetual license.

If you have a recent backup, then you can uninstall the latest version, download the previous software, disconnect from the internet, install and then stop allowing updates as per random_nuggets post, reconnect the internet, restore your previous file and continue from there without updates. Your file will continue to confirm because you have a Perpetual Licence. If you don't have a backup, then contact FGH Tables who can restore your file to the previous version.
Cheers

Thank you Liz, that seems to have done it!
