How long will backups (manual and automatic) be saved? Will it still be possible to save backups offline or to download them to an offline folder?

Good morning LynO
The automatic cloud back ups are taken every 7 days and you can do a manual online backup anytime. These are retained for 6 months.
It won't be possible to save a backup offline or to download the online backup.
There is a chargeable service we offer for a 'server backup retrieval' which would effectively provide customers with an offline copy of a backup.
*This service is something we have always had, it is not new as a result of the offline change.
But there should be no need for an offline back up for customers with an online file.

Thank you Mike for your clear explanation.
We have been saving our MYOB backups for ASIC (7 years) and ATO (5 years) record keeping requirements. Does this mean we can no longer use those backups for those purposes as they are only retained for 6 months? Or will we need to pay for an offline backup copy each year if we wanted to keep backups for record keeping purposes?

Hi LynO , you can still retain those backups and if you did ever need to access them you can do so using Server Edition.
Going forward, one of the advantages of having the file online is that your information is accessible in both the desktop and the browser.
In browser for example, previous financial years can be viewed by simply changing the date, until in desktop where you would need to restore a back up of the previous year.
Also even though the backups are retained for 6 months, a new backup is taken every 7 days.
If a business closed and therefore the subscription to MYOB is cancelled, it would be a good exercise to request a backup copy to retain for record keeping. But while you have an active business and an active subscription with MYOB, we have got you covered.
