Thanks Mike
I have done all that and it works. I have opened it in Server Edition and can see it all and record.
Just to make it crystal clear for my client - the only thing this restoration of the backup doesn't have are all the uploaded documents.
Is there any difference between what I have just done and the server backup retrieval?
Is there any way to download bulk documents in the in-tray (desktop edition)?
I have other clients that I know have tossed away paperwork believing it's all in the cloud, but once the subscription ends are they accessible/retrievable if the ATO comes calling?
Also the link on the "Cancelling your MYOB Subscription" - Before you go - Download copies of any uploaded documents, when you change to 'Desktop" it only talks about Uploading, not downloading.
Working with uploaded documents
I don't use "Browser" a lot, so I presume on the Uploads menu it might show a whole list of ones that have been uploaded since inception 🤷♀️. All my clients use the Desktop Version Intray.
Thanks for your patience
You're welcome Marlyse ,
The server backup retrieval would be same as what you have done. The main difference is timing, as opening your file in SE and taking the offline backup wont be possible after a patch is made to Server Edition next week.
We do have some help information about import/export and you can toggle the page near the top to change between desktop and browser information.
Browser would be a better option for exporting your data for record keeping as you can use report packs.
Regarding the in tray documents, there is currently no way to export these in bulk for either desktop or browser. While you still have an active subscription and can access the file, it would be a case of opening and downloading each one.
After the file is cancelled though, within 1 year of cancellation, you can request a bulk export of in tray documents from our support team.

Morning Liz_A , this would depend on how the file was operating before moving to SE.
I'm not sure there would be many (any) customers who have moved from an online file in PC edition to being offline in server edition. This would be the only scenario I can think of where you could lose your attachments.
But a customer moved from online to offline, and they were using the in tray feature (which is an online only feature), then the documents uploaded to the in tray would not be in the file when opening in SE.
Customers can request a bulk export of in tray documents from MYOB up to 1 year after cancelling their subscription though.
If a customer was offline in PC edition, and then continued offline in Server Edition, there would be no change at all for them. They are both opening the same file/data/features. - Liz_A23 days agoSuper User
Hi Mike_MYOB
Please advise whether users who stay on the PC version without updates activated will keep their uploaded documents?

Thanks - I noticed that those who swap to the SE version will lose the uploads or have I misunderstood?
