Hi Mike_MYOB
That's the main issue we're experiencing. The application is not installed in the expected location:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Programs\MYOB\MYOB AccountRight 2026.6
We also cannot find any MYOB-related registry entries under the standard uninstall locations.
As a workaround, we run the executable as an administrator from Command Prompt. The installer launches, prompts the user to sign in with their company email address, and the application then becomes usable. Users can successfully access MYOB and their company files.
However, the installation does not appear to complete correctly. No desktop shortcut is created, no installation folder is created in the expected path, and the application does not appear under Installed Apps/Programs and Features. Once the application is closed, it is no longer available and must be launched through the installation process again.
Could you please advise whether this behaviour indicates an issue with the installer, or whether there are additional installation logs that we can review to determine why the application is not being fully registered on the device?
While we are using the -silent and the application is configured to install in the System context via Intune. It does not run under the logged-in user's account.
Thank you zohrawaqar for your time on the call. Great that we got it solved. Sharing here what the issue was just in case other have it:
2 issues:
- without "-allusers" Accountright will be installed in the user profile. If the "-allusers" is used, it installed at the machine level and all users have acess to it
- With the above knowledge, the command was ran as an administrator to install, but in another user account, what explain why the application did not appear under Installed Apps/Programs and Features (it was simply under a different user).
Make sure you follow instructions here and it should work fine.
