Payroll and PAYE

Where in this payroll does it calculate and show the gross amount on screen or in a report to be paid to IRD at every weekly IRD Filing.

Why do we have to add these items to get a that total amount

PAYE + Some Deductions ? + Employee Kiwisaver + Employer Kiwisaver

The Payroll Activity Report shows all deductions so you can use this report as some are non taxable.

Is this payroll not intended for New Zealand , we never had to do this with Ace Pays ?

Are we missing something or does the program need adjustments made.

Any help appreciated.

Hi Syd-Taylor - are you using Business Payroll. There is a report you see what is owed to the IRD each month. Check the Employer Deductions report under Payroll reports to see each month.

It doesn't show each week, but is cumulative for the month. Do you pay the IRD each week, rather than once a month?

    • Hey Jenniek,

Not sure where you are based but in NZ IRD imposed weekly Payroll filing on us several years back and so we have to file and pay weekly, so a monthly report is of little use to us other than checking the balance at the end of each month.

Beginning to think this Essentials payroll program is not suited for use here and should have stayed with NZ developed Acepays.

Hi Syd-Taylor,I am also based in NZ. IRD put in payday filing which files your PAYE each Payrun (MYOB Business does this automatically) - this part is correct. You don't have to pay weekly though - you just need to pay on the 20th of month following - which is why the report shows monthly. We do this for lots of clients and reconcile it once a month.
