Hey RJHA and alisona21
I've taken the liberty of moving your comments to this idea post and added your votes for maximum impact! Our product team snoops on the Idea section, so this makes sure your feedback gets seen by the right people 😄
Sounds like you're in the same pickle, just in slightly different flavours!
Just to make sure I've got the full picture:
RJHA You that you have categorised a transaction to the wrong category, but you're not able to find which one it is, as you often have multiple transactions for the same amount.
alisona21 You've got two categories with the exact same name, and you need to delete one of them, but in the sea of transactions, you can't pinpoint the transactions you need to edit to delete the spare category?
And the dream solution for you both would be to expand the search function to things like category, amount, description, etc. OR even be able to tap a category and see all transactions associated with that category.
Or perhaps an entirely different dream solution that I haven't even thought of? If so, please spill the beans! We want to hear it all!
Now on to what you can do right now: First off, you're right. With the current search function, you wouldn't be able to bring up all transactions under a certain category quickly.
But I think the Transaction list report might be our workaround:
On the Transaction list report, you can see all transactions broken down by category, including the amount and date that the transaction took place on. This should help you narrow down which transaction is the culprit, then hop on to the transaction list in the app, scroll to the applicable date, and edit the transaction.
Now, if my workaround doesn't do the trick in your situation, or if you still need a hand with how to tackle this, you can always flick us a message in the app: More -> Chat with us 😄
