Connected Accounts: Day to Day tips
Using the Same Bank Account for OIP/TTP đź’ł
If you’re using Online Payments (OIP) or Tap to Pay (TTP), here’s a quick pro tip.
Make sure you’re using the same bank account for:
- Your OIP/TTP settlement account
- Your Connected Account in Solo
- The linked category for those payouts
Keeping all three aligned helps Solo line up your payouts with your bank transactions, so your review suggestions are clearer and easier to confirm.
The result?
- Smoother smart-matching
- Fewer manual adjustments
- A clearer view of what’s been paid (and what’s still outstanding)
Reconsenting Each Year (The 12-Month Refresh) 🔄
Connected Accounts runs on Open Banking (not traditional bank feeds). When you connect your bank, you’re giving Solo permission to receive your transaction data for 12 months.
After that, it’s time for a quick refresh.
You’ll see a heads-up on your Home screen when your consent is about to expire. It will let you know:
- When it’s expiring
- What happens if you don’t extend it (new transactions will stop coming in)
Reconsenting is quick, just follow the in-app prompts and approve another 12 months through your bank’s secure screen.
If you miss it, don’t stress! Solo will pause new transactions for that account until you reconnect.
Important: Solo won’t automatically fetch any transactions that occurred while the connection was expired. Any missing transactions during this period will need to be manually added to your account.
Reconsenting on time ensures your transactions continue to flow into Solo automatically, so it’s always best to act promptly when you get the reminder.
Reviewing Transactions (Smart Matches) ✨
When new transactions land from your Connected Account, they’ll pop up in your Action hub as Transactions to review.
Solo suggests a best-guess match based on:
- Amount
- Customer or supplier name
- Invoice number and dates
Before tapping Confirm match, take a quick second to check:
- Does the amount match?
- Is the date right?
- Is it linked to the correct invoice or expense?
If the suggestion isn’t quite right, you can:
- Pick a different invoice or expense, or
- Change it to Personal (or another category) if it’s not business-related and there isn’t already an existing invoice or expense in the system.
⚠️ Note: If there is already an invoice or expense for this transaction, categorising it separately will create a duplicate. Only categorise a transaction when there is no existing entry.
Solo learns from what you approve or change, so your matches get smarter over time. But you’re always in control, only confirm a match when it looks right ✅
