GST return report: Get your BAS figures together without the guesswork

Need a clearer picture of your GST activity before you tackle your BAS? The GST return report is a great starting point.

It pulls together your GST figures for a selected period and presents them in a clean summary format, the kind that can make reviewing your return a lot less painful.

āš ļø Heads up: This report only shows up if your business is registered for GST in Solo. Not seeing it in your Reports list? Check your Business settings and make sure GST is switched on.

Running the report

Open up the Solo app and head to

More → Reports → GST return report

Before the report loads, you'll set things up in two steps:

Step 1Pick your date range: Choose the period you want to report on:

  • This month
  • Last month
  • This financial quarter
  • Last financial quarter
  • This financial year
  • Last financial year

Step 2 - Choose your export format:

  • PDF: hit Share to send it straight away, or tap the three dots to preview it first
  • Excel: downloads straight away for you to save or send yourself

What it shows

This report is all about totals, not individual transactions. Think of it as the summary view, the figures laid out in a BAS-style format so you can see where everything sits at a glance.

Depending on your activity, you could see fields like:

  • G1: Total sales
  • G3: Other GST-free sales
  • 1A: GST on sales
  • G11: Non-capital purchases
  • 1B: GST on purchases

What you see may vary slightly depending on your business activity and what's been recorded in Solo.

šŸ“Œ For help completing or lodging your BAS, speak with your accountant or bookkeeper, or head to ato.gov.au.
