Hot Tip: How to edit an invoice!

Let’s talk invoices and editing, because Solo is clever… and it’s also strict, because we all want to keep things nice and compliant.

Here’s the deal:

  • The customer name on an issued invoice? Locked. Once it’s sent, that name is living there rent‑free forever
  • fully paid invoice? That bad boy is also locked. You cannot edit it, but you can delete a manually recorded payment, which makes the invoice editable again.

Quick heads up: before you start editing invoices or deleting payments, it’s always a good idea to double check with your accountant or financial adviser so you’re not undoing something important for your records or tax.

But it's not ALL on lock, there’s still plenty you can edit. On an issued invoice you can tweak the important bits, like:

  • Price
  • Discount
  • Payment terms
  • Items: remove them, add new ones, or edit the description and price

If you need to edit an invoice, just find it in the Solo app, open it, then tap the little pencil icon in the top right corner. That opens the Edit invoice screen and you can edit to your heart’s desire.

Just make sure you resend the invoice to your customer if you do make any edits, and it’s a good idea to pop a quick note in there explaining what’s changed.
