Re: Copying an MYOB AccountRight File

Hi @SZatz

If the company file is stored locally, you can take a copy of your company by:

  1. Closing AccountRight
  2. Opening Windows Explorer
  3. Navigating to your library location
  4. Taking a copy of the file

This will create a copy of the file to which can be pasted into the same library location to open a copy of the file within AccountRight using the Open a Company File window.

If the company file is stored online, you can take a copy of the file for local use using the following process:

  1. Open the online file - Open a Company File>>Online
  2. Once you have that file opne, select File>>Backup and take a backup of that online file
  3. When that backup has bene completed, go to File>>Restore and select to restore that file into a library on your computer.

The above process will restore that online file locally thus creating a copy of the online file for local/offline use.

Note: Both methods will generate a seperate copy of the company file which is unrelated to the original. For example, if a transasction is entered into the copy company file, this will not appear in the current company file.

Kind regards,
Steven
