set up issue

Hi all.

I set up as a new user with a new company file yesterday as a builder but want to change that to a manufacturer.

Can any body please help

Hi @Graemejimboomba

 

Are you referring to when choosing a template for the Accounts List?

In which case, if you already set up the file then you're not able to quickly change this in the same file. This would add in the Accounts List and you would then need to edit the Accounts List directly.

 

See this support note: Set up accounts

 

Note that it is usually recommended to speak with the accountant at some point to make sure the Accounts List is set up correctly for your business as those templates are very generic and can sometimes not suit.

 

 

Note that in order to choose that option again to re-set the templates, we would need to create a new file and deactivate the current one. This would mean you would need to re-set up any work you've already done in the current file.

 

If you would like to go through this option let me know so I can send through the steps on what to do.

No worries, so what we need to do is:

 

  1. Deactivate the file on our end.
  2. Remove the file if it's online.
  3. Then go back into AccountRight and remove the link from the Recently Opened List
  4. Once removed, click Create and go through the steps again.

To do this, I'm going to need to locate the file and deactivate it from your licence to let you use a new one. Could you send me a Private Message with:

  • The MYOB Serial Number (Found in: Setup > Company Information)
  • The Company File ID (Found in: Help > About MYOB AccountRight)

2. Remove the file if it's online:

 

I will need to do this if I see the file is online, this will remove all work you've done in the file so far. Let me know if you would need any of this before continuing.

 

 

3. Remove the link from the Recently Opened List:

 

When you open AccountRight and you're on the Welcome Window, just right click the File Name showing here and click "Remove from list":

4. Create the Company File again:

 

This is just by clicking "Create" on the Welcome Window again and following the prompts.

Just received your PM and I've actioned it. I've now deactivated the File and removed it from the Cloud. You should now be able to complete Steps 3 & 4 and be up and running again.
