Run Diagnostic Script
Our stock levels often show with multiple decimal places and we have been told we need to call everytime for MYOB to run a diagnostic script. This has been happening for 4 years and we keep being told they are working on it. How long will this take, we cannot bill clients when this happens. I have been on hold for 40 min and told we were a priority customer. Can someone please assist me by running a diagnostic script or tell me if I can do it? Thanks,

SR DAL Error 6522 - Solution
Hi Community, We have been seeing a spate of these errors on client sites, it seems to be a result of a recent .Net Framework security update, installing a new SystemMessaging.dll file. This file is required by the SRDAL to interact with the Tax database, in a VIZPOST scenario (sites without PM Plus). The issue presents with the following: SR DAL data source server error (see server event log) Assuming the SR DAL service is running and working correctly (and appropriate Windows firewall rules are in place), then the next thing to check is the event log error message. In the Event Log: Applications and Services Logs -> MYOB look for the following: System Release DAL SQL error 6522: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]A .NET Framework error occurred during execution of user-defined routine or aggregate "MSync_SqlMsmq2SendMSMQMessage": System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Messaging, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. Assembly in host store has a different signature than assembly in GAC. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131050) See Microsoft Knowledge Base article 949080 for more [SELECT CURSOR] Once this is confirmed as the issue, you then need to confirm the current version of .Net and update the assembly security in the Tax database. 1. Open Windows Explorer 2. Browse to C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework 3. Confirm the folder with the highest number, this is currently v4.0.30319 4. Open SQL Management Studio and login as an administrator account 5. Ensure all users have exited MYOB AE and perform a backup. 6. Select the New Query button 7. Select your AETAX database from the drop down, please note this may not be called AETAX. 8. Enter in the following to the SQL Query, where the folder version number is the one confirmed in step 3. For this example, I will use the current version of 4.0.30319: ALTER ASSEMBLY [System.Messaging] FROM 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\System.Messaging.dll' 9. Press F5 or select the !Execute button to run the script 10. You should receive a message the change was made successfully. 11. Confirm Tax now opens and the data can be accessed. Please note: for sites running Profiles, it is also possible to correct this issue by running the AETAXConfigUpdate.exe routine from the MYOB BIN folder. Just make sure all staff are out of MYOB AE and a backup has been performed. As always, this information is provided "as is" and no responsibility will be taken for its misuse or damage caused by these steps. If you are do not understand what the above steps do, please do not attempt them. If in doubt, contact MYOB support :)

Digital Signatures - Proof of authorised persons
Hi I am new to clients signing BAS and documents via MYOB Practice and would like reassurance about the validity of signatories. IF we lose access to the Practice Dashboard or close our Partner practice, a downloaded PDF of a signed BAS or document, with only a ‘signers name and date of signing’ displayed at the bottom of a document, seems insufficient evidence of who the authorised signatory was. I would have thought at the very minimum, the signatory’s email address would also be displayed. I realise you can see when a task is created, assigned and approved, but again there is no proof of who received & signed it. Please don't direct me to look at the full user settings in the client portal, as this information would be obsolete in the event we lose/close the partner portal access. I've been using AdobeSign where you’re provided an audit report displaying the Signatory’s name, email address, date/time of signing, and IP address which is why I'm now looking for reassurance of this process. Also, is there a way to download or save a completed task to show the activity and comments history for each? Perhaps my settings are incomplete and I'm not seeing the whole picture, which is possible as it's taken months for myob to fix my access and settings to start using it. Appreciate any feedback or guidance. Thanks

Mapping client accounts just got more accurate!
1 MIN READ We’ve released an update to Client Accounting in Practice Compliance that gives you more precision when mapping client accounts, with new and renamed codes across income, expense and liability categories. For practices preparing special purpose financials, this means less need to force accounts into the closest available option. What’s changing? This update includes new codes and clearer naming on existing ones, so accounts can be mapped more accurately from the start. A few of the key changes include: Income and expense codes now display directly on the Income Statement Superannuation payable and PAYG Withholding now have a clear home, appearing in the Trade and other payables note Some existing codes have been renamed to make them clearer across teams, including: Government subsidies → Government grants and subsidies Term debtors → Trade debtors Trade payables → Trade creditors This release is AU only and was released on 8 April 2026.

So what MYOB said would never happen is now going to !! From 17 June 2026 AccountRight desktop is being phased out. You have to be joking MYOB - 9 days before the end of the 2026 financial year, and between now and then bookkeepers and accountants have to convince their clients to upload their files online. What do you suggest we tell clients who don't have internet access and those who refuse to work online. At least on the desktop if the internet goes down (your end or theirs) they can still keep their businesses going

GST Setting on sign up
Why is there no option to state that a business is not registered for GST when they sign up with Solo? As a bookkeeper I spend an extra hour of set up (non-billable) working on a clients chart of accounts returning them all to N-T status before changing their status back to unregistered. This however does not allow for the removal of 'Tax Inclusive' and Tax Exclusive' from the invoices and such which is causing confusion for the clients and may lead to incorrect data in case of audit and mislabelling of data for clients and their clients or when the Tax agent uses the data to complete tax returns. Solo is an amazing app for small business. But it needs to stop assuming the world is registered for GST and allow the client to decide this fact on start-up to ease issues and confusion at a later date. My Micro client, who is in the red at current, will now be sending Tax Invoices that include tax notes like included or excluded and GST notes even though they are likely never going to need to register.

Big improvements coming to Client Accounting – here's what you need to know
2 MIN READ We're releasing two meaningful updates to Client Accounting in Practice Compliance on 20 May 2026, and there are a few things to do before then. What's changing? Detailed notes – finally here You will soon be able to control how notes are presented in your financial statements. Add headings, create subtotals, rename line items, regroup account codes – and that setup carries forward each period. No more recreating it from scratch. The notes reflect the reality of your client's position, shaped by you. Borrowings – broken down the way they should be The Borrowings section of the chart of accounts is getting restructured. Bank loans, hire purchases, chattel mortgages, and other borrowings will each have their own code, with purpose-built workpaper templates for the most common types. The detail that matters to clients and their banks is captured accurately from the start. IMPORTANT Before the release – lock your completed work If you have client files with Borrowings already mapped, you'll need to re-map those accounts after the update before you can continue working on them. Your workpaper data is safe – nothing is lost. But re-mapping is mandatory. To avoid any unexpected changes to finished work, lock all periods that are complete before 20 May. A few things to be aware of Three notes – Other liabilities, Cash and cash equivalents, and Bank overdraft – will default to a collapsed view after the update. If you have files actively being worked on, expect them to look different, even if you haven't made any changes yourself. Changes to MYOB AccountRight offline mode
6 MIN READ **Updated with new FAQs 21/04 - please scroll down Hello Accountant and Bookkeeper community. An important update was emailed to our partners yesterday, but I am posting an update here as well for any who might have missed it (and because it is being discussed in the forum already). From 17 June 2026, MYOB AccountRight desktop app (PC edition) will only work with company files stored online. Offline mode will no longer be available, and from version 2026.5 (PC edition) you’ll no longer be able to open, edit or save files stored locally (in My Library or Network Library). AccountRight desktop isn’t going anywhere. The only change is that your company file will need to be online to receive product and security updates, support, and online services.  If you’re currently using an offline AccountRight file with an active subscription, you need to move your file online before 17 June 2026 to continue to access AccountRight . There’s no additional cost to move your existing subscribed file online. Why are we making this change?   The offline version of MYOB AccountRight desktop is built on technology that no longer meets today’s performance standards. Moving online will:  Improve performance, reliability and security, such as 2FA and regular online back-ups  Ensure MYOB AccountRight is built on current, supported technology  Deliver faster and more frequent improvements, including stronger AI capabilities  Align with industry best practice and evolving needs of our customers   We remain committed to supporting your business far into the future. Our focus is shifting to investing in our next generation of online products and modern technology that reflects the evolving needs of our customers, delivering solutions that save time, increase efficiency, and improve collaboration between small businesses and their advisors.  We’ve put together an overview of what’s changing and how to move your file online linked here Please note, that any SME customers who need to take action will be communicated with via email on Tuesday 21st April. Updated FAQs 21/04 There is a legal requirement for businesses to keep records for 7 years – can I access an old back up for these purposes? Yes. You can continue to meet your 7-year record-keeping obligations with your existing offline backups. Here's how: For audit/view-only purposes – You can restore older backups in any AccountRight PC edition version prior to 2026.5 to view files. These versions remain available on our website at myob.com/downloads. For active files – If you have an active subscription, you can access prior years directly from your browser without restoring a backup. How can I view an old offline file after this change? To open an old offline file, customers can download a previous version of MYOB AccountRight PC Edition and use that to open, access, or interact with an offline file. PC Edition We currently host previous versions of MYOB AccountRight on our website, and we have no immediate plans to change that. Please note that due to monthly automatic software updates, you will need to download and reinstall that previous version of PC Edition if you want to access the offline file on an ongoing basis. Server Edition If you need to interact with old offline files on a regular basis, downloading and installing Server Edition will enable you to have offline access and it won’t be impacted by our monthly automatic updates. We strongly encourage customers to move their files online to ensure access to future features and security enhancements. In both cases (Server Edition and older versions of the PC Edition) there are risks. At some point, this software will be phased out, and the file will need to be moved online. After 17 June 2026, Server Edition will only receive bug fixes, not any future features or security enhancements. For perpetual licence holders, for now, you will continue to be able to access your file offline using one of the above-mentioned options. What happens to my specific version of an AR offline file? MYOB AccountRight Classic / V19 Can be opened in Classic/V19. The file will fail confirmation and become read-only, but you can still view files for audit purposes. MYOB AccountRight PC Edition From version 2026.5 onward, there will be no offline capability. Older versions remain available for download on our website, and backups can be restored to view and edit, provided you have an active licence (perpetual licence or current paying SaaS licence). Important: MYOB AccountRight auto-updates to the latest version each month, so if you do install an older version of PC Edition, this old version would need to be re-installed if you needed to access an offline file again in future. MYOB AccountRight Server Edition From version 2026.5 Server Edition will be offline-only. However, MYOB AccountRight Server Edition is not a long-term solution. At some point, this software will be phased out, and the file will need to be moved online. After 17 June 2026, Server Edition will only receive bug fixes, not any future features or security enhancements. How do I view previous years' data for an active file with a subscription? In MYOB AccountRight desktop You can override your current online live file by restoring an old backup OR download an old version of PC edition or install Server Edition and restore the backup locally (offline) In MYOB AccountRight browser – If your primary need is to view historical data for audits or reporting, the browser version is the simplest, most future-ready method. If you can’t see previous answers about installing PC or server edition You don't need any backup. Simply change the date range and you can view previous years' data directly. Financial year restrictions on reports have been removed — for example, you can now generate profit and loss comparative reports from 2012–2020 via browser (which is not possible in desktop). I upgraded from V19/Classic to the latest offline version, what does this change mean for me? We have three options available for you to consider: Move your file online. Take advantage of online capabilities that MYOB AccountRight has to offer. These include: Automatic cloud backups protecting your data without manual effort Live bank feeds that are more up to date Multi-user access — multiple people can work in your file at the same time Faster access to the latest software updates as soon as they are released Improved performance and upcoming AI-powered features Move to Server Edition – This retains offline access and interaction with your file for now. Please note: AccountRight Server Edition is not a long-term solution. At some point, this software will be phased out, and the file will need to be moved online. After 17 June 2026, Server Edition will not receive any future feature or security enhancements and will only receive the bug fixes. Return to Classic – You can view files in read-only mode for audit purposes, but you will not be able to edit offline. **Update 23/04 Hi all, apologies, I have made some incorrect statements in my replies, that I will work to update and correct. But I am updating here as well to provide clarity to all. This relates to MYOB AccountRight PC Edition, perpetual licence holders, or current subscribers exclusively using their file offline. From version 2026.5 onward, there will be no offline capability. Older versions remain available for download on our website, and backups can be restored to view and edit, provided you have an active licence (perpetual licence or current paying SaaS licence). **I had indicated in some of my replies, that access would be 'view only' but it is view AND edit. Important: MYOB AccountRight auto-updates to the latest version each month, so if you do install an older version of PC Edition, this old version would need to be re-installed if you needed to access an offline file again in future.
