We have a casual employee earning $25.00 per hour working approx. 6 to 12 hours a week. When completing his weekly payroll record it is not showing a superannuation payment. Is it because it is under $450 per month in the first week.
If that is the case do I have to manually enter each week the superannuation amount according to hours worked.
Appreciate any help :-)
You are correct that MYOB will not calculate SG in week 1 as SG is less than the monthly threshold of $450.
My understanding is MYOB will automatically calculate SG once the $450 is reached.
A manual input is not required.
From your figures, I understand your employee lowest pay is $600 in a month.
In preparing payment of SG, I cross reference the Payroll Report to the P&L.
You can also change the Threshold in the Superannuation Guarantee Category from $450 to zero if you are always paying Superannuation. This is a discretionary decision by the business owners or can be part of the employment contract.
