Need help on corruption data file

Hi everyone,

I am suffering an EXTREMLY bloody bad problem.

Yesterday when I tried to us Payroll, we have two company payroll files, when I opened one of them, there was a warning popout shows "There is a corrruption in your data file.  Please contact MYOB customer service", when I click OK buttton, it disappeared and I can still work on that payroll file.  BUT when I tried to open another payroll file, it pops out the same corruption warning, but when I click OK, the payroll file was opened BUT into READ ONLY.

I have called MYOB technical support this morning for nearly one hour, and tried all of their instructions and ways on trying to fix this problem, AND reinstalled the Payroll 2015 under SAFE MODE, the same problem still exists, one of our payroll file is always READ ONLY!

FURTHERMORE, even AFTER REINSTALLING WINDOWS 8 SYSTEM BACK TO FACTORY STATUS, and then reinstall Payroll 2015, the same problem STILL THERE, the payroll file still READ ONLY!!!!!!!!!!

Could anyone have any idea on this bloody problem? and any suggestion??????

Thanks for any helpful information.

Re: Need help on corruption data file

Hi @mmsagro99

I am sorry to hear that you have been receiving that message.

Firstly generally speaking there is never a corruption within the data file. The error message is mostly caused by either having a foreign language pack installed or having the language setting set to something else within Windows. The reason for the message is that Payroll can't determine the information in the file, as some characters may be different with the different language setting therefore it thinks there is a corruption.

I would take a look at Support Note: " There has been a corruption in your data file" error message when opening Payroll it does go through the process of checking your language settings. Also make sure that if you do have any foreign language packs installed, in particular Asian character sets, that do uninstall or disable them.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Need help on corruption data file

Hello @mmsagro99

Thank you for the update.

Now that you have installed payroll in safe mode can you please right click on the software icon>>Proprieties>>Compatibility>>"Run this program in compatibly mode for: Windows XP (service pack 3)" and also select “Run this program as administrator”.

Once you have done this please remove the CADATA files out of the payroll folder as in the support note Steven has provided. At that point restore the backup file following this support note - Restoring your payroll file

Can you please go to Tools>>Options>>System>>Make sure you have deselected "use automated online payroll data file confirmation. Then go into Help>>Confirm data file and follow the prompts.

You should have full access to the data file, if you do not after you have done all this can you advise if the error is still happening or is the file still in read only?

This will allow us to troubleshoot further.

Kind regards,

Kat

Re: Need help on corruption data file

Hi Kat,

Thank you very much for your help.

But unfortunately, the problem still there, and the payroll file is still READ ONLY.

I am sobbing at the moment, and totally disappointed.

What else can be done??????????????????????????????????

Hi @mmsagro99

Thank you for taking the time to speak we with today.

As discuss it appears that you have sent in your company file to the team for an investigate. From my understanding the team have returned that file back to you and it is out of read only, which is great news.

If you do have any further enquires don't hesitate to post on the MYOB Community Forum again.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Need help on corruption data file

Hi Steven,

Thank you very much for your call this morning.  Yes I have already received the repaired data file for MYOB data team, and it works smoothly.  That seems the data file DO had some error or corruption in it, and need to be sent to MYOB team to have a repair.

If I knew this earlier, I would needn't to reinstall my whole Windows system!

Anyway, thanks to all you guys who supplied strong help to me!
