AUTOMATIC UPDATES ON TERMINAL SERVER by end USERS Hi MYOB Support, I have some important queries from my clients on how the automatic updates work in terminal server environment. 1. Will users doing automatic updates on a terminal server cause issues as they dont normally have administrator rights to install updates? I'm just worried it will cause no end of issues if users start upgrading program files and data files stored on the server. Normally, the server needs to be put in install mode for installing any updates on terminal server environments. Is this no longer correct? 2. Will files hosted in myobs cloud work in a terminal server environment? 3. Is MYOB still supporting files offline specially clients with payroll in remote areas with unreliable internet? 4. I have two clients with MYOB AR files over 500meg, in the past these files have been very slow online and client had to revert back to offline. What is the largest data file size recommended by MYOB for their online files? I cannot find any direction about this key matter. Re: Can i access myob db tables usin api deeppatin, If you are familar with Power BI /Power Query it can read data from API's and SQL tables quiet easily. There are also various power bi options to write back data to an SQL database if you try to goole Power BI write back. For MYOB entering myob transactions you can use the import process in the software to get sales item records into your MYOB data files or get a developer to write some code to POST transactions to api. Good Luck with your project! Garry (Fiveledger.com) Re: MYOB AccountRight Plus and POWER BI Yes you can connect any MYOB accountright data files to Power BI desktop using power query. The documentation is shown on the developer website but here are some useful links for you to review. https://community.myob.com/t5/MYOB-API-questions-and-answers/Introducing-MYOB-AccountRight-API-Postman-Collection/td-p/541936 https://developers.myob.com/api/accountright/accountright-postman-collection/ https://developers.myob.com/api/accountright/v2/ Re: AccountRight 2020.2 SE API Company File ID keep changing each day timtomasko the URI contains the file ID. so are you referring to the File ID changing... I havent seen this issue so I dont think its the ID changing. Private message me if you want to discuss further. Cheers Garry Re: AccountRight 2020.2 SE API Company File ID keep changing each day Chaan Interesting are you sure this is the case? Do you backup and restore your file everyday? I noticed an ID change only occurs if the data file is changed ie. restored from a backup or upgraded from old version. I dont use the ID for this very purpose but i will check the id tomorrow on some sites and confirm if you like. My preference is to use the record id or you could use the name to reference the entity required. I have clients on the latest server edition of MYOB AR 2020 and they power bi/excel to query the API. Cheers Garry Re: Randomly Changing Company IDs Samuel_Toombs @Chaan Seems a couple of users now having this issue. As I have found the ID is updated on upgrades and restoring processes. Hopefully one of the developers can answer for us! I will double check this again on a few sites. Cheers and Goodluck! Re: API - filter Purchase & Sales Items by Job Number chillr This might help you https://myobapi.tumblr.com/post/114000660909/digging-into-odata-myobapi cheers Garry Re: UID not exportable in MYOB Accountright interface edenf23 The UID is available in the endpoint list however you can't see it in the MYOB software application itself. You must query the endpoint to retrieve it. This can be done in Excel or power bi desktop if you have a local copy of the file and know power query. You need a connector built if you data is on myob's cloud which you may already have? Goodluck!
