Re: MYOB Advanced - Construction package Hi At this stage I can't really recommend MYOB Advanced one way or the other, because we are only just starting to use it after a 6-7 month set up process and we haven't yet done a full month's transactions and it's still not finished being set up 100%. The third party developers/trainers we used are great and knowledgable and work hard to get it up and running and train us, but the MYOB Advanced program/app itself has a very similar feel to older accounting systems I used in the 90's and early 2000's and does not let you edit on the fly, if you make an error everything must be reversed and done again, that is a big annoying step backwards. It's not "Advanced" in the sense it's faster and more efficient, it's the opposite. However it can do more consolidated tasks than AccountRight which is what we needed for our growing manufacturing and construction business. We use Thrive as the developers who are good. It's an expensive base product plus ongoing licence fees of $500 per month. Two admin based people can not log into the one user licence at the same time, therefore each person needs their own licence, they get you at every angle financially. However non-admin workers can be on one licence only to enter time sheets via the phone app but they can't do any other functions. Once we are up and running and have used it a few months I can give a further review on if it's worth it or not. Complaint Hi I am trying to find the phone number and email for the Australian based MYOB customer service, in particular the complaints department, not the overseas Customer Support call centre. We purchased a subscription for $136 per month but it was advertised at $68 per month as deal for the first few months of which 2 x $68 were deducted. However I was talked into paying $136 per month straight up by MYOB when I had issues logging in. So now i'm being charged $68 and $136 for the one company for the one subscription. I need a refund of 2 x $68 payments that were not used as I was sold the more expensive subscription. I have already gone down the route of Customer Service (overseas call centre??) but being continually served by the one person who takes delight in telling no refund. I've waited long enough - I am now needing to speak to a Manager or Supervisor please, who will understand the situation. Can someone please advise direct names or phone numbers? We currently use the standard AccountRight. If your business uses this, can you please indicate your likes and dislikes of the package and anything else we should know. Thank you. Insurance claim processing Hi We had tools stolen from our workshop to the value of $24,000 We placed a claim and were given a payment to cover the tools by our insurer, which I coded to : "4-8000 Insurance Recoveries." With the money received from insurance, we purchased new tools to the value of $24,000. How is the purchase of new tools coded in MYOB? Do we code it to our usual "Tools" account code, which will make it look like we now have $48,000 in tools? Thanks Re: Bank Reconcillation suddenly showing old transactions I have resolved this now - however I didn't need to undo two years worth of daily reconcilations to do so, based on the issue we had which was a relief! Our Issue was this: Our current rec balanced, but we suddenly discovered many previously-reconciled transactions with old dates also showing, and should you tick them, the bank rec will become un-balanced. In our case, all I needed to do was delete all the transactions that had suddenly appeared. This is because I found they were automated "double-ups" of transactions that had previously been reconciled. I suspect this happened after changing my settings to "automatically reconcile transactions" a few days prior. Despite having bank feeds for our bank account, we actually manually enter our transactions.. Therefore, after I changed the settings things got doubled up. To check your settings go to: SetUp > Preferences > Banking> "Auto-Approve bank transactions matched to MYOB transactions (system wide). This box was accidently ticked causing the double ups to appear next time we tried to do a bank rec. Deleting the transactions isn't for everyone's case - it may only work if you can see that the transactions are on MYOB are actually double ups. Upon first looking into this, there were no double ups but they did eventually show up which is strange. I hope this answer helps others out. I'm reluctant to undo two years of daily reconcilations so I'm hoping to find another workaround before I go down that painful route! Regards Narellde Bank Reconcillation suddenly showing old transactions Hi I'm reconciliing our company debit card account which I do daily. It usually has one or two transactions. However this morning over 100 transactions are appearing that have been previously reconcilled; the earliest transactions date back to Feb 2021, two years ago! Its only this one account and not the other other accounts where this has occured. If I tick them all, it does not reconcile with my current balance. If I leave them unticked, then my current transaction reconciles with the current bank statement. However, I can't leave 100+ transactions sitting unticked forever, so how can this be fixed wihout me needing to un-do and re-reconcile two years worth of transactions? Thanks Thanks Solved
