The Windows Server 2019 installation had a long-standing damaged WinSxS - it had been there for at least two years. For whatever reason it had only ended up interfering with operations during updates done in December. The server had to be rebuilt and AccountRight SE is once again functional. Thanks for your help. Regards, Wayne Re: Yet another "Server update required" issue after Windows Server update reboot following automatic upgrade to AccountRight SE 2025.11 Thanks, Genreve. At the moment it does seem that there has been some kind of corruption to the Windows Server installation itself. I will follow-up with an update once I get that resolved. Re: Yet another "Server update required" issue after Windows Server update reboot following automatic upgrade to AccountRight SE 2025.11 Just adding that I listed the wrong log file in the OP. Of course those log entries came from: "C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\AccountRightServerEdition\app-2025.1100.10006\Huxley\Huxley.Server.WindowsService.InstallLog" Also to note that at the time the log file for 2025.11 was compared to earlier versions log files (as they hadn't been removed at that time) and of course ended with "Successfully installed" entry and not with the "Successfully removed" entry like the 2025.11 log file does. Re: Yet another "Server update required" issue after Windows Server update reboot following automatic upgrade to AccountRight SE 2025.11 Since this installation is only used stand-alone - i.e. not used with online services (as far as I'm aware) would a downgrade back to 2025.10 be worth considering? I don't know how much effort it would entail to restore the database back to ~ 10 December but a functioning system will be a priority here. Yet another "Server update required" issue after Windows Server update reboot following automatic upgrade to AccountRight SE 2025.11 MYOB AccountRight SE is installed on Windows Server 2019. After last SE upgrade to 2025.11 clients must have upgraded correctly and appear to have continued functioning ok. However the server was restarted to install Windows updates - likely about a week after the user reported they had last successfully used AR around 19th December. Now when user attempts to login they get the "You're using AR 2025.11 but the server has Unknown installed." The same issue was encountered after attempting connection from a different workstation using MYOB AR 2025.11 client. Investigating the server found the following: In "services" the highest numbered service listed (and active) was "MYOB AccountRight Server 2025.9" i.e. there was no "MYOB AccountRight Server 2025.11" service listed. Four other MYOB AR services are present and running: API Service, Library, Server Locator, UpdateAgent Restarting the Windows Server offered no improvement. Examining "C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\AccountRightServerEdition\app-2025.900.10003\Huxley\Huxley.Server.WindowsService.InstallLog" revealed the following (expurgated): ... Installing service MYOB AccountRight Server 2025.11... Service MYOB AccountRight Server 2025.11 has been successfully installed. ... Committing assembly 'C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\AccountRightServerEdition\app-2025.1100.10006\Huxley\Huxley.Server.WindowsService.exe'. ... Uninstalling assembly 'C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\AccountRightServerEdition\app-2025.1100.10006\Huxley\Huxley.Server.WindowsService.exe'. ... Removing EventLog source MYOB AccountRight Server 2025.11. Service MYOB AccountRight Server 2025.11 is being removed from the system... Service MYOB AccountRight Server 2025.11 was successfully removed from the system. Searching found prior discussion of this issue following Windows Update reboot and the suggested remedy: https://community.myob.com/discussions/accounting_software_general/server-update-required/888303 Attempting this resulted in: MYOB AR SE 2025.11 would not uninstall via Windows Server "Settings/Apps" Instead running "Update.exe --uninstall" appeared to be successful Reinstalled from downloaded stand-alone 2025.11 installer No improvement. Attempts to connect still fail with same message. There is still no "MYOB AccountRight Server 2025.11" service listed. The 2025.9 service was also now removed InstallLog shows the same - installation then deinstallation of 2025.11 Any suggestions as how to proceed? Solved
