I would recommend ensuring that you have completed the upgrade correctly and on AccountRight 2017.2. This can be checked via Help>>About AccountRight. It should show something similar to the following:
Edit: To access that Advanced Search option select the Customer drop-down arrow to bring up the customer list. The Advanced Search option will be located at the bottom of the drop-down list. Here is an expanded screenshot for you:
Note: The Advanced Search option is only available in the Receive Payments window i.e. it will not appear in the Pay Bills window.
