A card should be used for every transaction in MYOB.
Whether you have one card called Dividends or a different Dividend card for each Company is up to you.
I also have a Supplier Card when the shares are purchased and Spend Money is used.
You could have one card called Share Purchase or a Share Purchase card for each company.
You are correct that the information that prefills is a check to that in MYOB.
If you have myTax, I understand you can do this check yourself.
It takes about two months after the end of the FY for Dividends/Distributions to prefill
