I certainly do not have any compunction to comply with the Australian Tax Office compliance here in NZ and I find it hard to believe that they have legislated a requirement for MYOB to do so. In fact there IS NO REQUIREMENT FOR MYOB TO FORCE THIS ATO COMPLIANCE ON NZ CUSTOMERS.
MYOB have elected to roll this out to NZ as well because it is obviously easier for them rather than to treat NZ customers as intelligent people.
As far as the ATO is concerned, it is some public servant in the back office making up rules when they have no idea of what happens in the real working man's world.
We, like others on here, are on and off the MYOB system all day and will need to log on 6 times per day - ludicrous.
I have contacted my lawyer to see if we can get the NZ component of the inactivity rule removed.
